Review titled Fantastic treatment
by Robert724 - Posted on 27 July 2023
Admitted to ward 12 with breathing problems. The staff are wonderful people, nothing is a bother to them. I got a lot of beneficial information and exercises, all of which are working. Hopefully I'll get home soon and let another lucky person get this fantastic treatment.

Review titled Complete all round fantastic care and practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Penny Elliott - Posted on 15 June 2023
My father needed care in the dementia/elderly ward for 10 days. In that time, he and we, the family, were given wonderful attention. All the professionals went above and beyond their duties to ensure that my father received the treatment he needed. We, as a family, were cared for too. We were able to talk to everyone and give a full and detailed picture from our viewpoint. The professionals listened and gave us as much time as we needed- we never felt rushed in any way, although their time was extremely precious. We think we have the best outcome for my father and it is through the perseverance and dedication of the staff. The ethos of the ward and hospital is very evident - all staff greeted us with a smile and a kindly word - much needed when you are rock bottom emotionally. We will sing Cramlington's praises, especially my father's ward, to all and we are so grateful that such a wonderful facility is in our county.

Review titled Things need to be better.
Rated 1 star out of 5

I attended cramlington A&E recently being sent there from my GP. The quick care I receive in A&E was fantastic. It all went down hill when I was put on ward 4. All of the nurses day and night with the exception of precious the nurse was absolutely despicable. I lost count of the amount of times I had to get out of bed myself besides me being very poorly to go find someone who could help a lady with dementia go to the toilet but had pressed her buzzer many times and another lady who was vomiting everywhere. Who also had pressed her buzzer for help. When I finally managed to find Some to help and disturb there chat it was like I was an inconvenience to them whilst they dragged themselves to the issue. I was in a lot of pain whilst I was there. Not once did they bring me medication without asking and not once did they bring it to me in less than an hour, there was no explanation for this as there simply is no communication. The nurses have no empathy or sympathy the whole 3 nights I was there I felt I was a problem. Eventually I was told I could go home but must come back on Monday at 9am to the neurologist which makes me feel sick I have to return here. Whilst waiting to be discharged I was put on the ‘lounge’ another was with 4 beds I waited here for almost 6 hours to go home. An 89 year old woman was opposite to me. 2 woman came in and told her she was being transferred to wansbeck and showed her pictures of a home she would be put in after. Another nurse came in at this point . This lady was telling them she wanted to go home she was confused. All of them got up and left her. She was 89 years old and she lay crying and sobbing for over an hour not once did anyone come to comfort her just walked by rolling there eyes and discussing her loudly for everyone to hear how sad . I can’t stop thinking about this poor lady. All of the above is simply ot acceptable I hope an enquiry is made of this and no one is ever ever treated like this again.

Whilst on holiday in the area, a local GP referred me to Cramlington for a CT scan. This was late evening and the department was continually busy with a variety of medical problems. The staff at all levels were helpful, kind and thorough and, yes, we did have to wait but it was well worth it. Thank you for your care.

Review titled Fantastic Service

Having going to A&E, being admitted to Ward 15 and having surgery, spending a week in nsec in total. I would like to point out that all the staff from domestics to surgeons have done a fantastic job. Many staff went above and beyond providing a fantastic service. The care was simply the best and I can’t thank them enough. They made me smile when things got tough, they made my wife feel welcome at visiting times. The hospital was clean, I was kept informed all the time, the staff made me feel safe. I could not ask for any more from them. Thank you nsec.

Review titled For emergency gynaecology department
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Zara gray - Posted on 17 May 2023
Last week Thursday 11th may i visited Cramlington hospital to get checked over after experiencing some bleeding early in my pregnancy I got called in by triage in a&e and felt like I was being looked at as if I was in the wrong place for my problem, then got sent to emergency gynaecology, check in there receptionists were lovely, however when I went into the gynaecology department I got called in by a nurse practitioner and when she was asking me questions she questioned why I didn’t ring the department the day before which I didn’t know you had to do or were aloud too because I thought everything was normal at first barring in my this was my first pregnancy, anyways she explained she couldn’t scan me due to only being 5weeks 5days so she needed a urine sample which was fine but I didn’t feel reassured in one of the scariest time in my life or felt like I was being supported in anyway so I wondered off managed to do one then come back with it, the next part I was disgusted in I handed my wee sample to one of the nurses in the department she then proceeded to take my sample into the waiting room toilets to do my pregnancy test which I think is out of order she should have took it into a side room like any others would be taking too test it, she come out carrying my pregnancy test wrapped in tissue and placed it on their work station not far from where me and my partner was sitting, I went to the toilet and my partner seen her lift the tissue off the test and got the other nurses too look at my test, which he knew by there faces and the way they were looking that something was wrong which I don’t agree with looking at my pregnancy test in an open area in a waiting room where other people is around, I got called back in and was told I had a miscarriage, in future I won’t be returning to the emergency gynaecology department as I was disgusted by the way I was treated and the way they went around doing my tests

Review titled Fantastic individual care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Janet Lloyd - Posted on 06 April 2023
I fractured my arm in Austria and had to attend A&E on arriving home a week later. Every single member of staff displayed professionalism, respect and fantastic holistic care and can I say everyone appeared very cheerful and upbeat for a Monday morning. What was most important they showed they genuinely cared, looking beyond the obvious. They went the extra mile making sure I could be added onto that mornings fracture clinic rather than sending me home to wait for an appointment. The care in Austria was very good but it’s the added personalised care from our NHS which made my experience perfect.

I travelled down from berwick to be seen with an abcess in a delicate area was told to go and wait on ward 6 was waiting over 2hrs to be seen doctors and nurses ignoring then for someone eventually to come a look at my problem and tell me to come back next day for an operation i was told to come to the procedures dept for 8am only to get there and it was closed until tuesday, then when i do eventually see a doctor and report my previous history for them to look at the problem and say we won’t operate as its burst having explained my previous surgery they didn’t even clean the wound gave no instructions how to deal with it and fobbed me off with some tablets, i know it was a bank holiday but if sepsis kicks in i feel like why bother paying taxes for poor service no faith in the hospital and will travel to the Rvi in future.
