Review titled Day Surgery Unit
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Joanne Copley - Posted on 22 May 2024
I came into the day surgery unit on 21st May for a biopsy. The whole experience was so well organised and the unit so clean. The staff on the ward who looked after me were all amazing and gave me reassuring hugs when I was in tears as I was frightened about the recovery ward. Every effort was made to respect my phobia. A totally faultless experience. This hospital also saved my life in ICU in 2019. I would like the staff who looked after me to be thanked for much. Waking up in recovery was just a little uncomfortable with a patient kicking off but security were there in minutes and it was sorted. The security at Peterborough hospital are good too as are all of the amazing volunteers. Thank you all for the job you do and the difference you make

I was seen professionally from reception, triage, X-ray, treatment for dislocated toe, dressings and supports... All within 50 minutes🎉 I had a follow-up phone call 2 days later too. Absolutely exceptional service! Thank you!

Review titled Gynecology Procedure - Woman’s Heath
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Andrea Pillay - Posted on 31 May 2024
I was scheduled for a procedure at the Peterborough Hospital - Woman’s Health on the 29/05/2024, which I had been slotted in quickly due to the nature of my condition and age. As a relatively nervous patient I was absolutely impressed with everyone involved in my care. All the Doctors, Nurses and everyone else was caring, supportive, kind and ultimately professional. I simply can’t be more impressed and I would highly recommend this hospital.

Review titled Thefts and understaffed on ward b6
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I recently have had to visit a relative frequently whilst they have had a stay on ward b6 at Peterborough City Hospital. Whilst during my observations, I cannot critique the care that was offered by the nurses and HCA or the Doctors, I did sit there and see how short staffed they were. My relative was in a bay and other patients spoke of not seeing staff that often. A patient had valuable item stolen and staff were heard that this has happened quite often. Unacceptable.

Review titled Amazing care
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I gave birth to a sleeping baby on 30/05/2024. I was alone during this experience (my choice) but the midwife’s that looked after me and my baby were amazing. They hugged me, they were rubbing my back, they made me feel I’d known them my whole life. The way they dressed my baby and put my baby in a sweet little basket I will never forget it, it was so so beautiful. I will never forget you ladies, Thank you for making the worst time of my life a tiny bit less painful❤️

Review titled Tip Top Service

Having visited the Daycase Treatment Unit on 30 April for cystoscopy and biopsy, the experience was flawless Great meet and greet, informative anaesthetist and surgeon, great care and rapport in the anaesthetist pre op room, lovely chat with the nurse in recovery, attentive intersection with coffee/biscuits back on the ward and efficient discharge. Every patient/customer touch point through the journey was smooth and easy. Definitely an upper class virgin atlantic experience! I’ve been having this type of procedure on and off since I was 21 years old. Nearly 30 years later, I always have so much praise and respect for the treatment I am given and how I am treated as an individual. Exceptional care and service. Thank you so very much.

Review titled Friendly and efficient
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Charlotte - Posted on 07 May 2024
Attended in a Sunday evening as my sun suffered a pulled elbow. From arrival to leaving, the staff were friendly, and treatment was quick and painless. We left with a happy boy and relieved parents within 40 minutes. From the receptionist who booked us in, sister who triaged us to the gentleman who treated him, excellent, thank you.

Very unorganised, scarily inefficient - very poor. Will go further afield if children ever need to go again.

Review titled Intelligent, Savvy care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Scott - Posted on 30 March 2024
Thank you to the entire team in Peterborough’s delivery suite for taking care of my wife through a less-than-ideal delivery. The doctors, midwives, and trainees were empathetic without compromising professionalism, a challenging balance to strike. I appreciate the way these professionals delivered the facts surrounding our situation to allow my wife and I to make the wisest decisions at the right times. Although my wife’s experience in the delivery suite did not go as originally planned, we cannot commend and thank the staff enough for everything they did to ensure my wife and newborn son remained healthy.

Review titled People get lost in the sytem

Apparently, there is no telephone number to contact when trying to track down a relative. My wife is somewhere in the system between the outer doors of A&E and the rest of the hospital, booked in and assessed, but still awaiting treatment or a bed, but there is no way for me to find out where she is, nor find out any information about how she's doing. The only way to find out is to stand in the monstrously long queue of potential patients waiting to be seen by the receptionist, so that they can ring around and find out where my wife is. Absolutely absurd. Why doesn't A&E have an enquiries number or even an enquiries receptionist. We even have to stand waiting in the queue before seeing a receptionist who can let us into the A&E department to visit my wife. This is an excellent example of how not to run a department.
