: 7 yrs after my first diagnosis I had a return visit, and was delighted to see the consultant I’d previously seen was still there. He’s one of natures gentlemen but also extremely professional.I felt completely at ease, everything was explained perfectly and everyone was so kind.. The nurses are as always amazing.. Thankfully this time my diagnosis was good so me and my family can relax and get on with our lives.. Please don’t hesitate to contact this wonderful unit if you have any worries.. Thank you all for your help and support

  2. Review titled Left hand/ right hand

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Brian Vasey - Posted on 06 May 2023

Brought in via ambulance with possible heart attack, the A&E did everything I could ask of them and finally took me to a assesment ward that night, I then spent 3 full days on that ward and had another attack it was only on the third day that someone from the coronary ward came to see me, and said they had not been informed of me being brought in, So on Friday morning I am now on the cardio ward where I am then informed that no one is available to give me an angioplasty untill next Tuesday as they are going on holiday. I am in a small room by myself with no radio or TV wired to a machine so I can't get about at all looking at a wall for what will be at least 4 days because it's a bank holiday. So from having the first attack till first proper investigation 8 days, If your going to have a heart attack ensure your in Leeds centre where they seem to put patient care a little higher.

  3. Review titled Incompetence results in 9 week setback

    by Jodie82 - Posted on 27 April 2023

After waiting over 10 weeks to see the gynecology consultant to discuss surgery after numerous tests the day of my appointment I had a bad flare up. I called the hospital on the morning of my appointment at 10:00am - my appointment was at 14:10 and asked if the consultant could call me instead of me attending as I was so ill with suspected endometriosis (the nature of the condition I am needing surgery for). The lady I spoke to said she would call me back in half hour but if I didn't hear from her that a phone call would be fine. I explained if there is no way the appointment could be done via phone that I would get help getting to the hospital/ dose up on painkillers etc. She assured me that if it wasn't possible she'd call me back and that if I didn't hear back to expect a call at the scheduled time. At 13:50 the lady called me back to say they forgot to call me back and I needed to attend in person. I live half hour drive away. They didn't have to decency to fit me in the following day or asap and as a consequence of the incompetence I am now on a potential 8-12 week waiting list to see the consultat. Then it'll be another long waiting list for surgery. All the while the government will have to pay me full statutory sick pay allowence.

  7. Review titled Great Hospital and staff, disgraceful parking.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 March 2023

The hospital, care and it's staff were faultless throughout the visit, very impressed. Parking is disgraceful, said £6.90 to park for up to 24 hours. I was there around 9 hours and machine charged me £18.30 to leave. Be wary when parking you have enough money to cover whatever amount they decide to charge.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent experience. I have shared your kind comments regarding the care and treatment you received. However, I am disappointed to read of how much you were charged to pay for car parking. I have checked and between 4-24 hours the parking charge is £6.90 so I am not quite sure why you were charged so much. I am assuming that there is a problem with the machine and if you are able to let me know which machine it was, I can ask the Car Parking team to have a look at it. I am really sorry for the amount you had to pay and can fully appreciate how frustrating this will have been. If you could like to contact our PALS team, myh-tr.palsmidyorks@nhs.net, with details of the machine we can make sure it is looked at. Kind regards Clare Blackburn (Head of Patient Experience)

Advised by GP to attend urgent care Monday 20th March. Reluctant as it was concerning my 34 year old daughters breast and legs. The triage staff and the lovely doctor were brilliant even though they were so busy and my daughter was so anxious. Thankyou everyone concerned especially the very kind doctor ( sorry don't know her name.) Daughter now on fast track journey.

  9. Review titled No response

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mr Griffiths - Posted on 18 April 2023

I'm leaving this review really as I don't know what else to do, i was referred for a urgent CT scan and had the scan five and a half weeks ago, I was informed by the nurse the results would take two weeks to arrive,I contacted the urology department after two weeks and was told they hadn't been processed yet and they would be posted out to me, since then I have left two telephone messages with urology to call me back and no one has, I eventually got through to the radiology department and was told where the results had been sent,so I contacted the doctor's secretary yesterday, got a message service so asked the doctor's secretary to call me, it's now after 4pm the following day and still nobody has called and I have received nothing through the post five and a half weeks on . As I said at the start I'm only leaving this review as I don't know what else to do at this worrying time Mr Griffiths

Dear Mr Griffiths Thank you for taking the time to post your comments and I am really sorry that you feel you have had no other option but to leave a review on a public website. I can only imagine how worrying the delay in receiving your tests results must be for you and I am sorry that you have not received any information. In order for us to be able to look into this for you we will need some personal information which would be inappropriate to request on a public website. Therefore, could I ask that you make contact with our PALS team (myh-tr.palsmidyorks@nhs.net) who will be able to chase up the results for you. Thank you again and I hope we can resolve this issue for you as quickly as possible. Kind regards Clare Blackburn (Head of Patient Experience)

  10. Review titled Waiting time ridiculous

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 May 2023

I have been referred to Neurology department - Pinderfields by my local doctors advising that I most probably have mnd after other tests coming back as fine. Obviously the "most probably" comment is alot to swallow. I was referred on 31st March and should have had an appointment by 1st May. It is 16.5.2023 and still have not received an appointment after chasing up on 3 occasions. This is a long time of waiting an outcome of if i have or havent got a life threatening illness.
