  1. Review titled Full sometimes scary

Rated 4 stars out of 5

My mum had a fall and the a&e was full, she was seen quite quickly and treated lovely by the staff they were brilliant with mum and nice even though really really busy. What we fould a little frightening was the amount of police with offenders and some with awful injuries.

  2. Review titled The staff were all fantastic

    by polariswh53 - Posted on 20 December 2022

The staff were all fantastic at Pinderfields A & E. They were under staffed with 10 hour waits to see a doctor, despite this I felt listened too and very well cared for.

  3. Review titled Not interested and failed

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Grant lee - Posted on 08 December 2022

Took grand child as told by doctor with letter. 5 hours never did any obs then nurse came look and said viral infection, didn't ask anything or even read letter from docs. Also said no beds so take her home. Still no better day after back to different docs from 111. Once checked has double ear infections, bad throat and temp 39.1 needed urgent antibiotics. Discusting that a massive hospital didn't do basic tests or care about there patients. Luckily saw a caring professional day after who did there job...

  4. Review titled Poorly managed under pressure

Rated 1 star out of 5

Attended with an elderly relative following 10 hours through 111 triage and being referred for tests. We then waited another 8 hours is A&E as we started again with the queuing system. I do think 111 and A&E should take a more joined up approach but also think that it would be beneficial if the geriatric A&E offering was separate from general. I also think that ambulance staff should be able to hand over to a designated person to support vulnerable elderly people, especially given how many were left on beds in corridors with no information. This would then free up ambulance staff to go back out and carry out their duties as there were too many clogging up corridors whilst waiting to 'offload' patients. We waited 3+ hours for an ambulance and can see why.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding both yours and your elderly relatives experience whilst in our Emergency Department. I am sorry to read of your experiences and for the length of time waiting in the department. We are continually seeing an increase in the demand for our Emergency Departments which means some of our patients are waiting longer than we would like and for that I am sorry. I have shared your feedback with the staff as it is important that we continually learn from our patients/relatives/carers experiences. If you would like us to look further into this for you, please do contact our PALS team on myh-tr.palsmidyorks@nhs.net Thank you again and hope your elderly relative is recovering well. 5. Review titled Nothing was too big or small for them.

    by browsernp65 - Posted on 16 November 2022

I was admitted onto gate 37 for observations and then was moved to gate 36. I was in a bay room with several other ladies. The nurses, doctors, healthcare assistants and cleaners all went out of their way to ensure you received the best care possible. Nothing was ever too big or small for them. On a weekend where the nurse were busy and rushed off their feet they still ensured that the patients best interest was at heart. I just want to say a massive thank you for all of the effort and care they provided me with. The only one recommendation I would make is that the meal times aren’t very convenient. Breakfast 08:30am then lunch at 11:45 and tea at 17:30. I personally think it is a little bit much of a gap and lunch is a bit early. The choice of food and drink is exceptional.

  6. Review titled Wonderful staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 November 2022

I attended with my child who has Adhd with a medical emergency. The staff were so kind and patient especially the triage nurses and anethatists. Without their kindness and understanding my child would have really struggled to access the emergent treatment needed. Staff were rushed off their feet and some of them had worked through their breaks yet we were still dealt with with a smile and genuine concern. All staff greeted us with their first names and explained what would happen at every step of the process. They listened to my child’s additional needs and responded with adjustments. I can’t thank them enough. Just wonderful. I hope they see this.

  7. Review titled Wonderful Dr and team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Charlie - Posted on 30 November 2022

I just wanted to say a huge thankyou to the Dr and staff who treated me on 30.11.2022 at Dermatology. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and after years of medical appointments due to infertility I sometimes have panic attacks in clinical settings. After my initial consult I decided to have a skin anomaly that had been bothering me removed, I felt very informed and comfortable with the Dr. Today was the day of the removal and although I was anxious I was put at ease, and I felt listened to and heard. Didn't feel a thing and it was lovely to have a positive experience after years of negative - it means a lot to somebody like me. Lovely informative staff working with the Dr too. Thankyou and have a lovely Christmas.

After a busy wait in an overstretched A&as I was admitted to Ward 36. Every member of staff I encountered was professional, friendly and had my best care at heart through. Communication was excellent and I cannot thank the entire team enough. Every single member of the ward team worked together to make my surprise stay comfortable-thankyou

  9. Review titled Exceptional Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 December 2022

My grandma was admitted via A&E with a broken ankle. The specialist nurses in A&E were amazing - they explained everything clearly to her and were so kind. The staff on Gate 36 and 38 were also amazing with her - they kept her spirits up and made sure she had everything she needed. After being in for two weeks awaiting surgery, we thought she might get lonely and bored but she said she didn’t have time with all the fantastic staff caring for her and taking time to chat with her. The surgeons were also extremely kind, listening to her concerns and explaining everything. From start to finish, the care she received could not be faulted. She wanted me to say a huge thank you to all the staff. And I would like to say thank you from her family for easing all of our worries and providing us with the confidence we needed to know she was in great hands. Please share this feedback with the staff - we cannot thank them enough.
