  1. Review titled Overall positive experience. Would go back

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Enny - Posted on 18 February 2024

Had to take the time to write this review as the nhs gets such a bad rep all the time. Had my first child here not long ago and I have to say the service I recieved was amazing. There were a couple or hiccups and one or 2 unsavoury characters but nothing is 100%. My experience overall was good and I was well taken care of. Thank you so much all the nurses midwives and doctors who show up every day and keep us safe. We really do appreciate you

  2. Review titled Really Positive Experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Day Surgery which doesn’t show on the options at the beginning. I had a procedure on my waterworks so understandably nervous. The whole experience from the reception to being discharged was exceptional. It says no names so I can’t list all those that put me at my ease with their professionalism and humour. Great people skills all of them. It’s my 3rd visit here for operations/procedures on my waterworks and didn’t get around to leaving a review last time. All I can say is each visit has been positive. One of the nurses looking after me in the recovery room had been a nurse for 33 years. He still made me feel like an individual and not someone just passing through. I can’t thank the consultant and his team enough.

  3. Review titled Given wrong number of tablets

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 January 2024

After waiting hours at the pharmacy, I gratefully took my bag without counting the number of tablets myself. This was a mistake, as I now find I have half the number required according to the directions on the box. So now will have to likely spend hours there again tomorrow trying to sort it out, as that’s when they run out.

  4. Review titled Dreadful service

Rated 1 star out of 5

The new pharmacy system is a shambles, you give your details at the hatch, then sit and wait, and wait, and wait. Every now and again someone comes to the hatch and shouts a name, but mostly nothing happens. How can they be so slow! Everyone is afraid to leave incase their name is called, and there’s no way of knowing if it has been, or how much longer to wait. Appalling.

  5. Review titled Corridor patients

Rated 1 star out of 5

I don't blame the hospital but so sad to take my mum in who has stage 4 bone cancer on chemo treatment to be a corridor patient along with so many other patients on both occasions within a week. She even spent a whole night in pain in A & E because there were no beds. Some patients in beds who couldn't talk were even reaching out but because the department was so busy had to be ignored. Porters were f-ing and blinding. Paramedics were shocked. Staff were frantically trying to find corridor spaces. Try and avoid this hospital in an emergency as its struggling to cope.

  6. Review titled No duty of care at all!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 January 2024

Went in for a keyhole procedure in october 23. Terrible experiance as a whole with the aftercare from the recovery to the day surgery unit. Had to remove my own canular and had to get a drink off of another pantient because i wasnt offered a drink. Have not to this day been consulted about the surgery. All that there is is a piece of paper with one sentence that doesnt even make sense! And some follow up actions that too this day still have not happened. They tried to admit me overnight even though was day surgery. When the nurse was asked why they simple said - the consultant has not had time to write the notes up there is no medical reason. I told them i would be leaving as there was no medical need. They consulted the surgeon who agreed my discharge with plans to follow up but then made me sign a self waiver form under the influance of general. No duty of care from this hospital at all. The impact on my wellbeing has been horrendous. And im still waiting. Even my Gp cant see any notes from the surgery.

  7. Review titled Great care at Maternity Assessment Unit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sarah - Posted on 23 August 2023

Attended the MAU due to worries about reduced baby movement. Although it took a while to get someone to answer the phone, once I spoke to staff they were very helpful and suggested I come in for a check up. We had to wait about 45 mins to be seen, much quicker than expected. The midwife was efficient but thorough with her checks and reassured me that I had done the right thing in getting checked up. Overall a very good experience and thanks to all the staff for their help.

I came to the hospital today to have a couple of tests today. The phlebotomist who took my blood was very professional and very helpful. She helped sort out a problem with my other test. This 86 year old is very grateful. Thank you

  10. Review titled Wonderful staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Siobhan M - Posted on 31 May 2023

I recently went for a scan in the early pregnancy unit where we decided the best course of action would be to go to the day surgery (that same afternoon) for a surgical management of miscarriage. All the staff I interacted with were approachable and caring, and what could've been a traumatic day was lightened and made so much better by those who cared for me in such a lovely manner. Thank you so much!
