  1. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Barrington Excell - Posted on 28 July 2023

I was unfortunate enough to attend the Emergency Department on the night of 27th for a bladder problem. Despite the wait which was inevitable due to the large numbers the service I received from the doctor was wonderful. He made me relaxed and went over and above his duties. Went home feeling a new man

  2. Review titled Hysteroscopy experience

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 July 2023

I had a Hysteroscopy 21/7/23 at 3pm due to historic PMBs which is occurring every 2 weeks. I have other concerning symptoms which I provided in writing during my appointment with the Dr who I had met for the first time. Noting, I have been feeling generally unwell and in pain since last year which is progressively getting worse. I am therefore feeling anxious and keen to know the cause. Today 21/07/23, during my consultation with the Dr and before the procedure I explained my debilitating symptoms which seemed to be dismissed and instead she had shown my previous ultrasound scan and said all is fine. I assure you it is not and it cannot be related to HRT (which she concluded) due to symptoms including PMBs, weight loss, difficulty walking, tiredness, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, and multiple UTIs. Nevertheless, due to the general NHS procedure and following repeated PMBs I required the Hysteroscopy for further investigation which was acknowledged. Following the consultation with the Dr and prior to my procedure she asked that before entered the procedure, I fill out a questionnaire on her and my experience of her and she left the room until I completed it. Only speaking for 5 minutes I felt obligated to give a positive review since this was before my procedure. This type of practice should not exist, putting patients under duress in hope their procedure goes well. After 10 minutes the Dr entered the room and checked my response in her review. She then led me to the room for the procedure. The other nurses present were very nice-but I had the impression they may not be that impressed with the Dr. The procedure did not go well and as it was so very painful, it was decided to abandon and I was informed that it will be rescheduled to another day and will be done under general anaesthetic. With my experience today, I do not feel confident in the Dr (due to the questionnaire I had to complete) and will instead be seeking alternatives.

  4. Review titled Waste of Time, Extremely Upsetting

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 June 2023

All I wanted was a diagnosis for a condition I've had for over a year. The staff at reception were coping the best they could considering how overworked they seemed. The area was clean but no seating most of the time, standing room only. Bright florescent lighting, chatting and radio noise was most disturbing. Was massively distressed by the time of my consultation (over and hour wait for consultant to turn up). The result was no help at all, useless and a waste of time and NHS money. I asked if I could be referred privately and/or given help to do this and received a direct "no". I was told I would be referred for an intrusive test, which had a long waiting time. I asked if this would result in a diagnosis and told probably not. So I asked how would I get a diagnosis and told I wouldn't and would have to live with the painful unsightly condition I've had and continues for over a year. At my wits end and my mental health is severely suffering.

Saw my GP at 0920 to review findings of an Ultrasound Scan. Abnormality in an area on the edge of the scan was noted and caused concern for my Doctor. He got staright on the phone to QA Urology to discuss urgent treatment plan. Told to go straight to QA with a letter and arrived there at 1000 and by 1020 treatment had been administered to take pressure off my kidneys. Lind prompt effective treatment for which I heartily thank the staff at all levels.

  10. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Allan B - Posted on 08 June 2023

Recently received radiotherapy treatment for prostate cancer. Each of the Linac teams were efficient, friendly and extremely considerate to all patients. This is obviously routine for them but they manage to treat patients with respect and kindness. My experience was mainly with the Linac 4 team but visits to other reams was equally impressive. Many thanks.
