Review titled Outstanding care and service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Emma Bateman - Posted on 25 October 2023
Upon arrival I was booked in within 20 minutes and seen by the triage nurse who promptly sent me to the appropriate department where I only waited a further 20 minutes to be seen by a very caring and understanding Dr who explained what was causing the pain along with what painkillers he was prescribing me and how to take them. This was my 1st experience here and I can hand on heart say I was very impressed and would recommend .

Review titled Felt well looked after

My daughter was recently admitted to queen Elizabeth children’s hospital acute receiving ward, I have left feeling so thankful to the amazing nurses on this ward who helped care for my daughter, the nurses we seen were very professional and really cared for my baby. I can’t thank them enough. Every member of staff we came across on the ward was so pleasant and made you feel at ease. It made a really horrible and stressful time a little easier having staff that really care about their patients especially babies and young children.

Review titled General environment
Rated 1 star out of 5

I was referred by my local GP to assess for IV antibiotics. The reception staff whilst pleasant has no social skill to greet the patient with a good morning even when I said that to them. The environment left little to be desired ,the waiting area is cramped and uninviting. Patients has not enough seats hence crowding to the back wall.Very well staff but if only they tell you what to expect next for example I was triage and was told to sit and wait , then I had blood taken but not told what sort of test ? I was simply directed back with cannula insitu and never said who is seeing me next. The staff are busy but not overwhelmingly as there are many personnel around.Staff do their job pleasantly but communication is not their forte. 4 empty jugs just left on the side. Why is there no water fountain as patient like me won’t want to leave the room in case we miss our slot! The whole environment is unloved and outdated!!

I went to this hospital to take one of my residents for her appointment. The staff couldn't of been more helpful, we got seen to quite early and the receptionist was very helpful with contacting the transport company to take us home.

Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Michaela Anaka - Posted on 23 July 2023
The Rheumatoogist, team and all the Rheumy Nurses are fantastic it is first class care I have received from the moment I first became a patient. I am in awe of the level of care I have received and any time I was in a crisis they are just a phonecall or email away. I will forever be grateful for the fantastic professional care I have received from world class experts in their field. Thank you

Review titled Efficient department
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended urology for a prostate biopsy on Monday 5th June. Although the procedure was unpleasant, the staff were amazing and everything was explained to me. I was treated with the greatest of care and dignity and although I felt a little 'wobbly' after the procedure, I was soon able to go home...

Review titled Great care from Patience in a time-pressured environment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Guy - Posted on 06 June 2023
It was a busy day in the Urgent Care department so it was several hours before I was seen. Patience was kind and careful dressing my wounds and gave good advice. I felt very well looked after -- a very professional and human approach. The demands on the care team here are obvious -- but they work hard to look after everyone, nonetheless. Thank you.

Review titled A 12 Hour Waiting Time.....
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 May 2023
.....for my 96 year old mother, with a broken pelvis, speaks for itself, I think. This followed a 10 hour wait for an ambulance. Indeed, if I had driven my mother to my hospital in Belgium, where I live, she would have seen a doctor sooner. The receptionist in the A&E area, when questioned politely about the waiting time, was unnecessarily hostile. When my mother finally saw a medical team (i.e.doctors and specialists) we found them without exception to be most professional and engaged. However, owing to our nightmarish experience in the waiting room we have taken the decision never again to visit the A&E dept of this hospital, even if it means lying seriously injured at home. We feel very sorry for the medical staff at Queen Elizabeth who have to work in such an environment. It is an appalling situation and we do not know what the answer is.

Review titled Kindness when you need it the most.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by GEHP - Posted on 19 June 2023
I had 2 appointments & 2 very unpleasant procedures to be done. At all times the doctors, nurses & reception staff were respectful, considerate & just really kind to me. At a time when the NHS under so much pressure it's incredible that these people can still smile & be so kind. They deserve so much more appreciation than they get at the moment.

Review titled Msged me to call urgently but nobody every picks up!
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Tatiana Vetturini - Posted on 05 April 2023
I was referred from my GP for an urgent dermatologi test, they booked me the wrong one, they sent me home saying they will be in touch. A month later on a Wednesday afternoon I received a message stating that I was booked a visit for the next morning which I couldn’t attend with this short notice due to work, I tried to call the 02088365966 as suggested but they never picked up ( I called about 10 times that day) 2 weeks later they text me again to call urgently the number 02088365966 but nobody picks up, ever, no matter what day or time of the day. This is ridiculous! Why can’t I book my referral visit through the NHS app? What is it good for? And why send messages saying to call urgently a number nobody ever pick up??? What does a person need to do in this country to take an appointment with doctor if even an emergency referral is not enough?

The patient was called this morning and rearranged her appointment. Our phones are busier than usual at certain times of the day and we do not have a queuing system so patient are cut off after a number of rings. We do have plans to change our call set up so patients know they are being placed in a queue, I have also made the team aware and discussed with them the importance of answering the phones in a timely manner.
