  1. Review titled Great care from Patience in a time-pressured environment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Guy - Posted on 06 June 2023

It was a busy day in the Urgent Care department so it was several hours before I was seen. Patience was kind and careful dressing my wounds and gave good advice. I felt very well looked after -- a very professional and human approach. The demands on the care team here are obvious -- but they work hard to look after everyone, nonetheless. Thank you.

  2. Review titled A 12 Hour Waiting Time.....

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 May 2023

.....for my 96 year old mother, with a broken pelvis, speaks for itself, I think. This followed a 10 hour wait for an ambulance. Indeed, if I had driven my mother to my hospital in Belgium, where I live, she would have seen a doctor sooner. The receptionist in the A&E area, when questioned politely about the waiting time, was unnecessarily hostile. When my mother finally saw a medical team (i.e.doctors and specialists) we found them without exception to be most professional and engaged. However, owing to our nightmarish experience in the waiting room we have taken the decision never again to visit the A&E dept of this hospital, even if it means lying seriously injured at home. We feel very sorry for the medical staff at Queen Elizabeth who have to work in such an environment. It is an appalling situation and we do not know what the answer is.

  3. Review titled Kindness when you need it the most.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by GEHP - Posted on 19 June 2023

I had 2 appointments & 2 very unpleasant procedures to be done. At all times the doctors, nurses & reception staff were respectful, considerate & just really kind to me. At a time when the NHS under so much pressure it's incredible that these people can still smile & be so kind. They deserve so much more appreciation than they get at the moment.

  4. Review titled Msged me to call urgently but nobody every picks up!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Tatiana Vetturini - Posted on 05 April 2023

I was referred from my GP for an urgent dermatologi test, they booked me the wrong one, they sent me home saying they will be in touch. A month later on a Wednesday afternoon I received a message stating that I was booked a visit for the next morning which I couldn’t attend with this short notice due to work, I tried to call the 02088365966 as suggested but they never picked up ( I called about 10 times that day) 2 weeks later they text me again to call urgently the number 02088365966 but nobody picks up, ever, no matter what day or time of the day. This is ridiculous! Why can’t I book my referral visit through the NHS app? What is it good for? And why send messages saying to call urgently a number nobody ever pick up??? What does a person need to do in this country to take an appointment with doctor if even an emergency referral is not enough?

The patient was called this morning and rearranged her appointment. Our phones are busier than usual at certain times of the day and we do not have a queuing system so patient are cut off after a number of rings. We do have plans to change our call set up so patients know they are being placed in a queue, I have also made the team aware and discussed with them the importance of answering the phones in a timely manner. 5. Review titled A&E staff were excellent

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I recently had to attend A&E in the middle of the night. This was of course very scary and concerning for anyone to experience. I would like to extend my thanks to all of the Nurses and Doctors I saw in A&E who were extremely kind, caring, and put me at ease. They were all working so hard. Thank you.

Me and my wife went in to have our baby and was told by the midwife after the minor operation that we would be able to leave the next day after lunch just to be told the next day that the operation means that we have to stay in for over 24 hrs to be monitored and this was 12 hrs after the operation had finished

  8. Review titled Consultation

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 April 2023

Attended neurology clinic as I have a progressive neuromuscular condition. Consultant and specialist nurse were very understanding and gave me time to express my concerns. Consultant was very reassuring and supportive of my symptoms allowing me time to talk and offering solutions to some of my concerns. The phlebotomist was also really pleasant and chatty making me feel at ease

  9. Review titled Calls to gynae reception deliberately disconnected

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Modupe Ajayi - Posted on 28 April 2023

I tried to reach the gynaecology department between 16:00 and 17:00 today 28/04/2023. The call was either disconnected, deliberately answered and immediately disconnected then left off the hook, or it was left to ring out. Even calls to the department via the operator were treated the same. In total it has taken an hour trying to reach the department unsuccessfully. It would have taken no effort to take a few seconds to ask me to call back at an alternative time if the department was busy. I need to reach the team urgently in relation to an appointment. This is a really poor reflection on the hospital, particularly the gynae department, and it is not in line with the hospital's values.

Dear Edmire Dida, Thank you for taking the time to post a comment about your recent experience in trying to book an ECG appointment. We are sorry that you have had difficulty in getting through. We shared your feedback with the service who provided the following response: Thank you for raising your concern, unfortunately at this time there is a significant demand for ECG appointments which is why the service only offers appointments by telephone. To support the demand the service is opening additional capacity at the Eltham Community Hospital. This will be available to patients from June 2023. The service is also looking to switch the ECG service to a directly bookable service and are awaiting a date for this to happen. This should make the process of booking ECGs easier for our patients. Kind Regards Charlotte Carter, General manage of Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology and Palliative Care at the Lewisham and Greenwich Trust If you would like to take this matter further, please contact our Patient and Liaison Service by email on pals.qeht@nhs.net or by phone on 020 8836 4592.
