Review titled I couldn’t have asked for any more
by Cre8tive - Posted on 01 September 2023
I was so worried and extremely anxious going in for surgery but as soon as I arrived at the planned care unit I was greeted with smile and the promise to be looked after. Absolutely everyone who I spoke to was friendly, honest and compassionate. I was an absolute wreck going in as I’ve never had any kind of surgery before but I was given anxiety medication to help and plenty of tissues. The nurse that gave me my gown and knickers lol didn’t mind when I must have asked a million questions as I kept forgetting what I was doing. My bags we tagged as I was a little worried leaving my phone and glasses but everything was perfectly fine. The surgery team were calm and friendly and found common ground conversations while putting me to sleep. This really helped me to be relaxed and I could feel I was in good hands. I really shouldn’t have worried though. Everything went to plan and once I came round I was given a new type of care. Nothing was too much and I’m just so grateful to everyone that was involved with my care. From the nurse that kept providing me with new sick bowls to the discharge nurse who was playing with my son who was excited to see me. I couldn’t have asked for any more and it’s not as scary as I thought it would be. To anyone that reads this, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the care I received, and to anyone going for surgery, you can have peace of mind that you will be in the best care.

Review titled Uncertain waiting for routine injections
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 July 2023
Still waiting for my mum to get an appointment for her injection in her eye. Now the list is reviewed weekly it seems and people called with a date but we have no idea how long it’s likely to be. In the past we were told she must have these regular injections to stop her eyesight from deteriorating.

Review titled Wonderful experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Was rushed to another hospital in March with acute pancreatitis but received no follow up. My doctor referred me to Queen Mary's and I cannot fault their prompt and marvellous care. I was seen very soon by sympathetic and caring staff and a gall bladder removal quickly carried out. Throughout, staff went the extra mile to explain everything and treat me with consideration and care. The place was spotlessly clean and I felt safe. I cannot thank them enough.

Review titled Amazing experience from Mottingham Ward
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 July 2023
Had a day surgery and my goodness Harley Street would struggle to match the service I received, I have never known, or expected such care, compassion and thoughtfulness from a team who clearly love their jobs and appreciate a patient's needs. Every person I encountered including the anaesthetist and surgeon gave me their time not because I was a number but because I was a person, they are all in the right jobs, and making patients experiences the best they can be! Genuinely had the best time, despite the procedure!

Review titled Excellent service from everyone

I have been attending the Breast Clinic for a number of appointments with consultants over the last few months as well as having CT, ultrasound and MRI scans. I can honestly say that everyone that I have come in to contact with has been so caring. We are very lucky to have people like them working for the NHS.

Review titled At our wits' end/great distress for my mum
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 May 2023
Why does the opthalmology department never answer the phone? How am I supposed to cancel/rearrange an appointment if the phone is never, ever answered? My mum had an appointment come through at very short notice which she just cannot attend. Me, my husband and my mum spent all morning/afternoon desperately trying to ring to speak to someone and get it rearranged. The phone just rings and rings, all the time! What should we do? The tone of the letter is unpleasant threatening her being discharged from the clinic if she misses the appointment saying she will have to go back to the gp for another referral! She's been attending the eye clinic for macular degeneration for years and this is an ongoing issue trying to get through and rearrange timings, days etc. Also the number shown on the letter isn't even the right number! We are at our wits' end with this telephone issue (and this is an ongoing problem) and is causing my mum really great distress.

Review titled Treatment of my injury
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Cath - Posted on 02 April 2023
I fell over on some rough ground & skinned my knee right across peeling back the skin Tried to dress it at home but realised I needed someone to help me Arrived on a Saturday evening expecting an endless wait, checked in on the iPad system & was triaged quickly. There was a wait to see the injury nurse but she was lovely & cleaned the wound properly & steristripped my knee back together. Thank you for your great service & care

Review titled Leg ulcer infection sepsis concerns
Rated 1 star out of 5

I have finished urgent care twice Friday The two ladies behind counter so rude didn’t even change date on board and waiting time. My second trip 4 days later even worse the receptionist was even more rude talking to me in a very aggressive manner saying you should have come here at 9am it states on 3 boards here here and here. I said doctor didn’t say last week to come after certain time as I needed to see doctor first , I am feeling worried about m condition and don’t need a very rude lady telling me off , you speak to people how you would want to be treated and that is definitely not . If you don’t want to do that job give it to someone else .why are they sitting there as they do nothing , this department I would give 1 star rating on both visits. rude greeting from 4 of the ladies I experienced , 2 of each visit . NHS is broken upon repair sadly no one can help to get ill now . doctors can’t get appointments so urgent care bursting at seams sadly.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, feedback is always welcomed and shared with the wider team so that learning may be share. I am sorry that your experience on both times that you visited were not positive experiences. You are correct we are currently experiencing a very high level of attendances, but that is not an excuse to not treat every patient with the level of professionalism that we expect from all out staff. I do hope you are now recovering Best Wishes Sue Hopkins Senior Operations Manager Bexley Unscheduled Care
