  3. Review titled Good care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kathy Hull - Posted on 20 September 2022

I attended A&E a week ago because of an accident I had at home resulting in glass being in my eye. Triage staff were welcoming. Waited in Urgent Care for a good 5 hours but was then seen by a Dr who managed to remove the 2 pieces of glass, checked my eye then said to come back if it was still uncomfortable. I did ask to be referred to the eye clinic but was told it wasn't necessary. I felt disappointed as there was no follow up offered but trusted that all of the glass had been removed. My eye was still blurry and uncomfortable one week on so went back to urgent care on Monday 19th, Triage again were pleasant and welcoming, saw a different dr in urgent care, he took another look and suggested that I come to the eye clinic today which I did. Eye is fine apart from being inflamed which I was so pleased to hear. Just want to say a 'Big Thankyou' to Urgent Care and the eye clinic for the treatment, care and friendliness of the staff that took care of me

  4. Review titled Kind and Caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Terry Zielinski - Posted on 06 September 2022

Yesterday I had an appointment at Queen's Hospital for a Colonoscopy. It's not a dignified procedure and I imagine some people might find it quite invasive and upsetting. However I was so impressed by the brilliant team work of all involved with looking after me that that it was all very comfortable and easy. Everyone I encountered was so kind and respectful from beginning to end including the lovely cheerful receptionist who signed me in to the kind and caring nurse who brought me tea and biscuits at the end. The whole place was spotlessly clean and very welcoming in the way it has been decorated. All in all an appointment I was dreading wasn't bad at all due to the efficient, kind, caring and very professional staff.

  6. Review titled no communication

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ben Lickfold - Posted on 20 August 2022

been here for 6 & a half hours up until this point of which we have been advised that we are still to wait another 4 hours!! No communication relayed. You have to hunt staff down just to get an idea as to how long you could be waiting for. Partner is awaiting blood test results for something that should have been dealt with a lot sooner based on her current condition. Overall poor service, especially considering the amount of national insurance that is contributed to the health service. Shocking place despite the issues with Covid, though that has played its part in months gone by. Surely not still an excuse.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by Ashleigh.B - Posted on 25 August 2022

I had a scan in radiology this morning at 9.45am for a pelvic scan and another one. I was nervous and the two nurses were so nice and calm and caring. They talked me through the procedure of scans and gave me a lot of comfort. Very gentle too. Thankyou

  10. Review titled Good and bad experience

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 November 2022

I had a C section in July this year. The staff from HDU and theatre were very kind and caring, but as soon I was moved to coral ward I had the worst experience. The night after the surgery I could not move properly, in very bad pain, and I could not find staff , no midwifes, no nurses for help. We were left with the babies, but nobody was there to help you if you need help . If you ring the bell, the maternity assistants especially during the night were kind of upset why they were called, not trying to help, my iv canula came out during the night, and I was looking for more than one hour for staff just to put a plaster on it. It's a big difference between the wards. Great job for HDU ward and theatre ! Coral ward needs a lot of improvement, especially during the night as is basically impossible to find a staff if you need help.
