In this very trying times with all medical services, (its been a tough few years ) I would like to applaud P & G for helping me with my enquiry today after not a very pleasant call to get same enquiry sorted on Friday. G was extremely helpful and really listened to my concerns, she followed through what she said she would .(Thank you so much) Resulting in P ringing back this evening ,reassuring me with my concerns and organised appointment needed, Thank you so much.

  2. Review titled Worst time keep up

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 December 2022

I was made to wait for more than an hour and half for my appointment. Why even give an appointment when you can't keep up the time. Further I had to renew my parking ticket 3 times and this added to the stress. The onduty doctors were of no help and instead showed their stress of being overwhelmed. Absolutely appealing g service for a patient. Worst experience.

  3. Review titled Excellent Service.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

All the Staff Members I met in A & E and the Minor Injuries Clinic were so kind, thoughtful and helpful. They all went " the extra mile". How convenient to include an X-ray facility in the Minor Injuries Clinic area. Thank you all so much. Very grateful.

  4. Review titled Wonderful treatment by team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended gynaecology post a diagnosis of fibroids. Such a good service and experience at RBH. Admittedly, this has always been my experience. The receptionist was quick and efficient, immediately greeting and processing me easily. I went straight in for my consultation. It’s surreal as you meet the consultant and are aware of others behind you prepping the area- and then meet them later. The consultant took my questions seriously. I did not receive information regarding the appointment (I’ll raise with GP as notification was through them), so the procedure (hysteroscopy) was one I was mentally unprepared for (although had researched everything to do with my condition so knew what it was), however all was explained clearly throughout. Such respectful and professional treatment from all. The nurses were truly lovely, engaging me in warm conversation. There was some humour also, which I need in such situations. There was a little room set aside to remove lower clothing items, set up beautifully with a chair, wipes and pads. This helps with a bit of dignity and privacy before and after the procedure. Thank you so much to the whole team for treating me so well throughout.

  6. Review titled Fantastic care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Dean Chamberlain - Posted on 08 December 2022

I had been suffering acute pain and discomfort in my back and abdomen for some weeks and eventually the pain was so bad my son called 999. When we arrived at Reading A&E I cant honestly remember too much as I was in so much pain but I seemed to get through A&E quickly and get some pain relief. I had acute pancreatitis and apparently was passing gall stones which was what the pain was. The care I received from all at RBH was magnificent, the Doctors and Nurses all absolutely brilliant. I just wanted to say a monster thank you and also to say that not everything in the NHS is broken as the media are desperate to say at the moment. Thank you NHS (Royal Berks) you were brilliant.

  9. Review titled Not very helpful

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I attended an appointment going back last year at the orthopaedic department to have an mri scan on my ankle. For them to tell me the results would be with my doctor in a few weeks. A couple of months later and I still Haven’t received them. Iv just had to contact the orthopaedic department to see if they have my results which they did but can’t tell me over the phone. The receptionist was moody and rude and made you feel like she didn’t want to help at all. It makes you feel like you can’t even ring up to get your results you need without being judged. I thought being a receptionist you had to be helpful and friendly clearly not in her eyes.

  10. Review titled The best care.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Charlie Arnold - Posted on 13 November 2022

Following a somewhat embarrassing accident, I was in a very bad state, hemorrhaging uncontrollably. I am stubborn and my fiancée had to put her foot down eventually to get me to A&E... I definitely left it later than I should have! At every single stage I was treated so incredibly well. Nothing was taboo, nothing was too much to handle. The fact that they also instantly recognised my partner as my partner, rather than a "friend" made the situation more comfortable. It's unfortunately still rare to have same sex relationships recognised. Every single person who dealt with me had impeccable bedside manner, everything was explained in detail in a way that I would understand and they even humoured my weird questions to keep me distracted. I don't think I've ever had so many people look at my "bits" before and yet it never felt uncomfortable... I actually feel quite emotional about how well I was looked after. From checking in at A&E, to the gynae team, the anesthesiologists, all of the nurses, the porters. I honestly couldn't have had a better experience from a really quite scary situation. I can't thank anyone enough and I just want to share my appreciation for the care, respect and love that pours out of everyone I had the pleasure of meeting.
