Every single woman visiting the day I went, was treated with respect and care. All staff were so welcoming and helpful. The testing process was carried out very efficiently. The examination process was very thorough. I felt I mattered and everything was explained beforehand, putting me at complete ease.

Review titled Great Experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Richard Beard - Posted on 29 January 2024
I had an appointment with a Dermatology consultant today. The consultant was knowledgeable, sympathetic and gave very helpful advice regarding my condition. A Healthcare Professional then took some blood, and was very professional, and had a lovely, cheerful & chatty personality. Not often do I leave a hospital appointment with a smile on my face. The Dermatology department is always fantastic to be fair. First class. Thank You.

Review titled Parking availability
by Suhari - Posted on 19 January 2024
My husband had an appointment at the dermatology unit. The care, once we got there, was fine - the problem was getting there. I parked in the main car-park as I didn't know if there was parking any closer to the dermatology unit (there was, but it was full) My husband has MND & needs a wheelchair. The car-park was busy, all the disabled slots were full so I had to park at the far side of the car-park. Several cars were parked on the designated footpath so I was unable to get through with the wheelchair & had to walk round on the road until I could get on the footpath by the hospital.

Review titled Caring supportive staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lisa Neat - Posted on 30 January 2024
I was booked in for a hysteroscopy procedure at Treliske on 25 January. I had read some horror stories of how awful the procedure could be so I was terrified. The hysteroscopist encouraged me to try the procedure with gas and air rather than come back for a GA and said that she would stop at any time that I asked, I was always in control. The 3 nurses were also very caring and supportive and made me as comfortable as possible during the procedure. It really wasn’t as bad as I had expected thanks to the caring staff. I really felt that I was part of a sisterhood and we were all working towards a common goal of a successful procedure. Thanks so much to those wonderful kind caring nurses and hysteroscopist - you are a credit to the NHS.

Review titled Poor care, lack of compassion
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 January 2024
Left in severe pain for 4hrs despite asking 4 times. Not listened too meaning wrong information passed on. Told to sit or lay on couch with no covering and told to remove clothes waist down nothing offered to cover self with and couch not cleaned afterwards. Sometimes it takes alot for someone to attend Ed. So saying just come back if, won't work especially if, if is already being experienced.

Review titled I am completely satisfied with my treatment
by Essexboy - Posted on 18 January 2024
I recently attended Treliske Audiology Dept. The treatment and tests I received was extremely thorough and I felt relaxed and at ease throughout. The young lady who dealt with me was friendly and efficient, she explained everything in detail and answered all my questions. You only ever hear the bad stuff about Treliske because good comments are not news. I am completely satisfied with my treatment from start to finish.

Review titled These letters and requests are very unwelcome
by orionsq94 - Posted on 12 January 2024
I am currently receiving treatment for interval breast cancer, which has been amazing and of the highest quality, with compassionate and professional staff. I received an invitation for breast screening, shortly after my diagnosis. I cancelled this, explaining the reason for the cancellation. Staff responded and were very helpful. However I subsequently received another invitation, just after my mastectomy, to attend in March. I cancelled this, and received an apology and was informed that I would be invited again in 3 years time. This morning I was dismayed to receive a text asking me to review my experience, following my breast screening appointment today. I haven't had an appointment for today. Having had a mastectomy 2 days ago, these letters and requests are very unwelcome. I need to focus on my recovery. Please can you check your records again and stop this from happening again.

Review titled Serious mistake
by stonem - Posted on 12 December 2023
I recently received an injection of Eylea in my left eye. I returned home afterwards and all was as previous injections - watery eye, gradual improvement of vision, slight discomfort. The next day everything was the same. However when I got up to go the bathroom early the next day I was aware of restricted vision in my left eye. I went back to bed. When I awoke in the morning and called Treliske explaining my concerns, I was told that I would get a call back. I waited until lunch time and called again. I was informed that I would get a call back that day. At 4pm I spoke to someone about the condition of my vision in my left eye. I asked if this was normal and would my blurred vision clear. I gave a clear description of what appeared to be blackish/rouge blobs obscuring my vision.I was assured that this was not unusual and to see how I was on Monday and to call back if nothing had changed. I had a feeling of overreacting if I didn't give it a bit more time. On the Tuesday my vision had not changed so I called Eye Casualty in the early morning. When I explained my condition I was given an appointment immediately for the Thursday. I was seen promptly on arrival at the Eye unit. Photographs were taken and I was informed that I had had a bleed in my left eye, which was caused by the disease and could have been operated on if seen sooner - i.e.at the time of my first calls on the Friday. They also told me that they would most likely have proceeded with an operation with consent, but that because of the delay it was now too late. I have since been sent a letter which says that I was not keen for surgery, which is incorrect. I was called on the Tuesday to be told they are sending a second letter correcting this. If they had recommended surgery I would have heeded their advice. As it was, this was academic because of the delay in being seen. My question is why was I not called in on the initial Friday for a face to face consultation? Whoever I spoke to made a wrong assumption as to what had occurred - i.e. a bleed which needed to be seen asap. An examination was vital and wrong advice led to an opportunity missed. What was the chain of command, who gave the advice to wait over the weekend? Was it a junior or a consultant? I personally think that things need to change so that this can not happen again. I must say that I have received multiple injections and am more than happy with the treatment that has been afforded to me by the NHS and the delightful staff I have encountered.
