Review titled Every nurse I see is attentive and gentle
by defenderbg78 - Posted on 02 February 2023
Amazing service as always. Every nurse I see is attentive, gentle, thorough. I have needed aural care for many years and without these lovely nurses my ears and my quality of life would be very poor. It is through these wonderful nurses my cholesteatoma was found and opperated on so quickly. Their care is extraordinary. Please bring back free parking for staff at RCHT.

Review titled Reassuring and caring
by nicola23 - Posted on 31 January 2023
Today I went for some biopsies in the Dermatology Department. I knew what was involved but was worried about the initial injection. I needn't have worried as the 4 ladies in the room were so reassuring and caring. Everything being done was clearly explained and all the way through the procedure they kept ensuring they had the right patient notes.

Review titled Excellent care
by Lady with blue hair - Posted on 19 January 2023
I was extremely unwell. My daughter called an ambulance and the 2 lovely paramedics that came to help were amazing from walking into my home to delivering me to a&e. When in a&e i was looked after by the doctors and nurses. Their care and support was excellent. I was moved within 12 hours to emergency surgical ward. All the staff were fantastic I can not thank all the teams enough! From the lady with the blue hair.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such positive feedback about our staff. I am very glad to hear that the team were so helpful and made you feel at ease. They work hard to try and minimise any worry or anxiety for their patients, and to make them feel as comfortable and informed as possible during such an invasive procedure, and they very much appreciate all feedback. I will ensure that your kind words are shared with the team. Thank you again.

Review titled Wonderful care
by Freeman - Posted on 10 January 2023
I just want to say a huge thank you for all the wonderful care you gave my son when he was admitted for an emergency operation for a ruptured appendix. He was in safe hands, and some nurses went the extra mile, and I as his Mum was grateful, as I could not be there. I hope you all get the rise you richly deserve. God bless you all, and thank you once again.

Review titled Video Consultations
by Patient at Playing Place - Posted on 06 December 2022
I have had two appointments with the Post Covid19 Clinic. One a few months ago. The 2nd this week. You send me an email reminder with only a link embedded to say if I will not be attending. There is no link for actually logging in to the appointment and subsequent virtual waiting room. I’m thinking where do I go then? After much messing around on my iPad, I then somehow found a text you sent me ages ago with a link to Royal Cornwall NHS page. So, I see a video conferencing large yellow button half way down the page, and that takes me to a page all about video conferencing. It has absolutely no link or button to log in. I was going around in circles for 20 minutes. So very stressful. I therefore missed my appointment. However, the doctor actually phoned me just a few minutes after my appointment. Thank goodness. They said they believe that it’s well known that the NHS video conferencing doesn’t really work that well. Why is this? And why is it so complicated? I have found it is so unnecessary. What happens next time? As I have another appointment in a few months.

Dear Patient at Playing Place, I am Helen Williams, the Outpatient Transformation Lead for RCHT, with responsibility for both video consultations and electronic appointment communications. I am sorry to hear of the frustrations you experienced accessing your Post Covid video appointment and am pleased that you were eventually seen as planned. The link to video consultation appointments should be available upon logging into the link in your appointment reminder; I note your feedback that the link only indicates whether or not you are attending and we are working with the supplier to change this message. As a result of your feedback, we are relooking at our website to make the links to the waiting areas more clearly accessible. If possible, I would like to review your case in more detail – if you would be happy to provide your details, please would you email me – helen.williams66@nhs.net - I am committed to making the changes we have introduced as uncomplicated as possible, so your feedback would be very welcome. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Best wishes, Helen

I just want to thank every member of staff on the maternity ward. I was kept in for 4 days around the birth of my daughter and everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. I was made to feel so at ease and received great care and support from all the staff. Everyone’s doing such an amazing job! Thank you all.

Review titled Well done to all the teams involved.
by eridanuspp45 - Posted on 27 January 2023
Attend local doctor with loss of hearing R/H ear appointment made to attend Trelisk Hospital in 3 weeks, this allowed "olive oil" to soften the wax. Attend trelisk for 10 am and I was seen on time, the specialist who carried out the procedure explained the procedure fully before starting, after it was finished I could hear perfectly. Well done to all the teams involved.

Review titled The treatment was second to none
by corridorbd34 - Posted on 05 January 2023
I went to A&E at Royal Cornwall Hospital after falling down 2/3 stairs at home. My ankle was obviously broken, but we didn't rely on an ambulance due to the crisis at the minute and my husband took me in our car. On arrival, 2 nurses came out to the car with a wheelchair for me and took me straight to triage, where I was seen right away. The treatment was second to none. The staff were run off their feet, but I was treated well. Due to being too busy for an op, I was sent home. I had 2 appointments cancelled for some reason, but had a call on Xmas eve at 8:45 p.m. to be in for 9 a.m. on Xmas morning for an op! I went straight to Trauma 2 ward, where they were very efficient and the staff were amazing. I had my op on the 27th, and all the staff on the ward, from nurses to HCA, were amazing. Although run off their feet with being short staffed, nothing was too much trouble. On the day of my op the theatre staff again were amazing and made my op an enjoyable experience, if you can say that about having an operation. I am a worrier, but although I was having an extensive op I was put at ease. Hopefully I am on the road to recovery now and await my first fracture clinic appointment after the operation soon. Once again. I cannot thank the nurses, HCAs and theatre staff I was cared for enough. You are all amazing and don't let anyone tell you any different!

Dear Corridorbd34, Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us - please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to you on here. I was pleased to see that although the Emergency Department was busy, you still received care and treatment that was second to none. I hope the care and staff you encountered helped to ease the disappointment of being in hospital over Christmas, a place I am sure no one wants to be over the festive period! I am glad to see that although you are a worrier, the team were able to put you at ease and make your operation an enjoyable experience. I am responding to you as a member of the Patient and Family Experience team here at the Trust, but I will ensure that all the teams associated with your care receive your feedback - I am sure they will be pleased to learn of your experience whilst in their care. Thank you again for taking the time to share your story with us, I hope you are recovering well at home. Best wishes, Jess
