Review titled All the staff were amazing especially the nurses.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Hannah Gascoigne - Posted on 18 June 2023
All of the staff that worked on thw dolphin ward from 12th-18th have been incredible and made our long stay so much easier. The doctors medical team were fabulous at making sure he was on the right track and only sent home when he was ready. I couldn't have got through the week with my son if it wasn't for nursing team on the ward!

Review titled Fantastic staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I went to urology surgical department due to having a kidney stone. I had to undergo two operations in a the course of five weeks, and all the time I was there, whether it was in day case unit, recovery or even the X ray department I always felt very well looked after. Nurses were amazing, friendly professional and kind. Doctors also informed me of my options at all times and all the procedures were well explained to me. I always felt like the nurses care for my well-being and their dedication and hard work hasn’t been unnoticed, hence this review. The hospital should be very proud to have such wonderful team.

I go to the transplant clinic @Derby hospital for my follow up. However they do not have a dietitian so I have had to speak to my brother for advice. They need to have one in my opinion.

Review titled Amazing care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by India Bell - Posted on 21 June 2023
I had a bit of a health scare recently which required an evening visit to A&E followed by Nuclear medicine for scans and Same day emergency care. It has left me feeling incredibly grateful for our NHS. At a time when I felt extremely anxious, scared and unwell, this was all eased by the incredible care and compassion displayed and provided by all staff members including: reception staff, HCA’s, nurses, doctors and radiologists. Despite the hot weather, the busyness of the department and staff being rushed off their feet they all provided care with a smile and showed great kindness and empathy. I have felt so well cared for and listened to by RDH staff during the last few days and I want them all to know how appreciative I am and how amazing they all are. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you do ❤️

Review titled Excellent district nurse service
by victoriaboyer36br - Posted on 11 May 2023
Many doctors or nurse associates visited to give extra pills, but only one actually spent time talking or listening and came back to me with a possible solution. Unfortunately they never returned and care deteriorated. No help. Covid in care homes. Family took action and brought me to Derbyshire. Excellent district nurse service; also non striking nurses linked to King's Coronary Care Unit at Derby Royal Hospital gave treatment in a day care unit. Treatment was about 4 weeks in hospital and visited in care home by their specialist staff. District nurses still continuing to visit. Excellent service.

Review titled Excellent

I arrived @ A&E at 2.30pm, with severe sciatica, it was extremely busy so knew I was in for a wait ( which was expected). I met some lovely people who were also waiting but also experienced the time wasters. Two very lovely HCA’s ( whom I’m not allowed to name unfortunately) came & took mine & other’s observations, they made me a coffee, topped up my water and provided much needed pain relief. We also chatted about donating blood I was triaged & much later saw a doctor who was lovely and very understanding of my pain level & symptoms, ordering an MRI instantly. Unfortunately I had to wait many hours for an ortho doctor to see me as they were busy elsewhere with more poorly people. The A&E staff looked me & us all so well, providing drinks, sandwiches and keep in me updated with time scales as best as they could. At 6am I was transferred to a ward. I would just like to say what an amazing team in A&E you have thank you for taking great care of me

Review titled Long waits at pharmacy
by Frustratedbyineficiency - Posted on 18 May 2023
Yet another nearly 4-hour wait at this hospital pharmacy! 2 hours waiting in line whilst my wife sits in her wheelchair in the busy main hospital corridor opposite! This has happened 4 times so far since my wife was diagnosed with lung cancer in November and today yet another wait.....yet more excuses. At a meeting with my wife's oncologist yesterday we were given a note to collect a prescription......I begged the oncologist to make it open so that we could obtain the medications from our local chemist, but apparently Pride Pharmacy is the only one the hospital can use. The waiting times continue! Coronavirus is still with us! Many people ignore the Mask signs! People cue for medicines in this unhealthy environment.......and it is call a hospital!

Review titled 5 Star Rating
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sally - Posted on 27 April 2024
I was taken to the a&e royal derby hospital majors a department by a very lovely, friendly, competent female ambulance crew. Not being familiar with the derbyshire area. I was very reassured by the kindness, care and treatment I received. From the ambulance crew, nursing staff, doctors and consultants at this hospital. After working as a registered nurse in a variety of setting and posts for the NHS for 40 years I was very impressed with how well the staff worked together to obtain a good outcome for their patients. especially in a challenging environment like a&e. it was apparent that the staff I met were happy working at the hospital. They showed compassion and an interest in their patients and fellow colleagues. From moving to c area and mau this was evident in all these areas. there appeared to be strong leadership within these departments. with staff all delivering the same good care and values.
