Review titled Trip Hazardous chairs in wait area in a and e
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Lisa - Posted on 27 April 2024
Witnessed 2 people trip over metal chair legs which stick out At the rear And cause a sig hazard. Can’t quite believe you would allow this silly unsafe design in an area where people are unwell and have mobility issues. Ok get health and safety to assess the issue for patient safety !!

Dear Lisa, Thank you for providing feedback on your recent visit to our emergency department. The location and design of our waiting area chairs has been reviewed by the clinical team and assurances sought by our health and safety colleagues. Your concerns will be fed back to the clinical and admin team in our emergency department to ensure consistent review of chair locations occurs to make sure they are not moved during shifts by our visitors or patients. We thank you for highlighting this as a potential concern. Kind regards from Elaine Kavanagh, Matron for Accreditation and Patient Experience

Review titled Excellent treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Melissa McConnell - Posted on 21 April 2024
Within 24 hours of my 17month old baby girl falling and lacerating her forehead, she was taken to theatre to have it stitched closed to give the best chance of minimal scarring. The care and treatment provided, despite the ward and theatres being so busy, was outstanding and my husband and I will be forever grateful. Keep up the wonderful work.

Review titled Perfect experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Shannon Pitts - Posted on 28 April 2024
I visited A&E once overnight and again later the same day for difficulties with my throat. I was at a point of desperation seeking answers. The team I was met with at Royal Surrey were professional, reassuring and extremely competent. Sometimes working for the NHS and visiting other hospitals I struggle to see how good it can be (through the hard work of individuals) but visiting here has restored my faith. Both ENT doctors I saw were thorough, helpful and I have left feeling reassured, able to hopefully recover at home. I would not visit another A&E again.

Review titled Insomnia Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

My sleep was very bad before I started the CBT with Insomnia Service. After 6 months, and despite a few major negative life events during the treatment, my sleep has drastically improved. It is not 100% perfect but now I am equipped with useful tools and mindset to improve it even more. The journey was not easy at all but it was worth it in the end. If you consider CBT for Insomnia, I highly recommend it. I would like to thank the Insomnia Service for all the materials, 1-2-1 calls and guidance.

Review titled Massive waiting list for hearing aid fitting
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Nicola - Posted on 09 October 2024
I had a doctor’s referral in November 2023 for a hearing test (I’ve worn aids for many years). I had the test in March 2024 and was fitted for new moulds and aids. I was told at the time that the wait would be about 2/3months. I called in July to be told that the wait is now 8 months. I’ve just been in touch again to be told it will be several more months before my new aids can be fitted. I’ve always had such good experiences with the audiology department in the past and not had to wait for more than a couple of months. Also the drop in clinic has still not re opened after it closed during Covid. What has happened to Audiology at the Royal Surrey? On a positive note, when I have an appointment, the staff are always fantastic.

Review titled Short Stay Surgery Unit - efficient and very kind staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Patricia - Posted on 05 April 2024
All the staff in this unit were knowledgeable, caring and kind. There seemed to be always someone on hand for advice or help and my needs were often anticipated. I think the ready availability of a staff member was the result of the efficiency and speed of working of those in this unit. I would like to thank them all, as they made what could be a very anxious time into a calm and manageable experience.

Review titled Insomnia Help
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Alison Wyatt - Posted on 09 April 2024
Having suffered from insomnia for many many years I was literally at the end of my tether, so to speak. I read online about the Royal Surrey Guildford having a sleep clinic so then I asked my GP to refer me -which he did. The person who contacted me from the Insomnia Clinic was very very understanding & also very patient. She really helped me to understand how to deal with my insomnia in a different way - that it turn helped me to cope. Having the support from her plus the CBT they use definitely has really helped. The online videos I was able to access were also extremely helpful - plus the fact I can still refer to these whenever I need to makes me feel a whole lot better. I wouldn't say I am cured - but my sleep pattern is so much better than it was & I feel a lot more confident going forward. I am very grateful for the help & support I have received from my contact & the Insomnia Clinic.

Review titled Amazing care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Abbie - Posted on 26 March 2024
I was sent to the Royal Surrey on the 13th of March when I fell ill. I normally go to Frimley but they didn't have space. I was seen to as soon as I got there and put on an IV and felt better within a couple of hours. I had to have several scans and a lumbar puncture which were all completed within one morning. The care I had was amazing - every nurse/doctor was kind and attentive and I felt safe and so cared for. I ended up staying in for 5 days but had such a positive experience because of the people looking after me. I stayed in the isolation ward so thank you to everyone working there and in a&e.

Review titled Great service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Diane Bradbury - Posted on 26 March 2024
Having experienced a bad fall I attended A&E minor injuries clinic. I was seen swiftly and assessed. I was referred for an x-ray of my left hand and wrist . I waited just a few minutes for this. My wounds were then cleaned by a nurse who was very kind. His initial assessment of the x-rays was that nothing was broken. I was discharged just two hours after arriving with a splint for my wrist. Two days later I received a call from the same nurse to say that the x-rays had been studied more closely and that he could confirm that there was definitely nothing broken. Now that's what I call service! (with a smile)
