I had to undertake a colonoscopy at the Royal Surrey County Hospital's Endoscopy Unit at level H earlier today. The service by every member of staff was excellent from the moment I arrived at reception. Thank you to all the staff and much appreciated.

Review titled Dedicated staff with amazing empathy and tireless patience.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sheila Blanco - Posted on 22 January 2025
I had to come to the Royal Surrey County Hospital by ambulance at 1.00am (Friday 17th January) Staff were very attentive but I wasn't seen until 8.00am, then told my episodes of losing control of my right hand and arm were matters for my family doctor. That was the least good experience of the next few days. I had another episode that evening at home, so on the advice of paramedics was taken again to Accident & Emergency. I was attended by one of the doctors who was extremely thorough and insisted I stayed overnight for more Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging brain scans. In total I stayed 3 nights in Acute Medical Unit, so was treated by many staff, who I cannot speak highly enough of. (I have never stayed in hospital for any length of time, apart from the birth of my children.) Several very seriously ill patients were admitted to this ward often during the night. The staff remained so cheerful and supportive. Medically, I understand the way forward for me. My bed was comfortable; my food was perfectly acceptable and hot. One thing that dismayed me was the behaviour of one patient's family who expected special treatment, day and night. The National Health Service has to run a tight ship; there is no place for individual entitlement. I am immensely grateful for all the kindness and professional help I received.

I’m so impressed with the speedy help I received for a non urgent ankle injury. I had great help from a fabulous nurse in accident and emergency minors who arranged an X-ray and gave me an orthopaedic boot. She also arranged a scan and fracture clinic for me. Had scan today at Sdec Staff lovely and kind and super service thank you.

Review titled Excellent Care

My 86 year old mother was brought to the RSCH to be reviewed by the Frailty Team in SDEC. She was admitted to Elstead Ward overnight. The care from the whole multidisciplinary team on both units restored my faith in the NHS.

Review titled Hard working, professional staff in short stay surgical ward
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Julia Dudley - Posted on 09 January 2025
I had a gynae procedure that was scheduled not long after my diagnosis (my care under this team has been excellent). The gynae team were reassuring and professional. The nursing team were caring and cheerful and helpful. How do they deal with so many different people and cases in such a professional way..they deserve a medal in the short stay surgical unit. I was admitted overnight unexpectedly and the team allowed my husband to visit late and helped with heat packs which was a total game changer. I left quickly the next morning as the bed was needed and I didn’t have time to really say thank you to all the staff. Thanks to the surgical team and recovery (I was there for ages!)..it was packed full of patcients but the voices of the staff chatting was a great tonic and contributed to a professional and caring atmosphere. I felt part of a well oiled machine and I am very grateful that I have the royal surrey as my local hospital.

Review titled Amazing Staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Tona Neal - Posted on 16 January 2025
I took my husband to Aand E as he had suffered an episode of confusion at home. The staff at the hospital from our first contact at reception, through triage into the emergency department was unbelievably efficient and caring. The doctors and nurses explained to both of us as much as they were able to and ensured he had the best care. He was transfered to FPH where the excellent service continued. We just want to thank everyone at the hospital for the great care we received. Thank you.

Review titled Parking app not fit for purpose
Rated 5 stars out of 5

The parking app you are using currently, nexuspay, is not functioning at all as at 25 Jan. The app is a dreadful experience in comparison to its competitors already. And now it's not functioning at all. Can search for parking location, can't pay. Crashing. Please can this be looked into.
