    The audiology department helped my 91 year old Mum improve the function of her hearing aids. They showed great kindness and have made a huge difference to her hearing. They also took the time to explain the next step to her which may be Cochlea implants. Thanks you so much, you are a credit to your profession and the NHS.

    The nurses during my procedure today were all amazing at making me feel at ease. It just seems to come natural to them. The student nurse in the room was so reassuring and caring she deserves an extra special mention. Thank you to all the nurses at Southend Hospital for continuing to take a lot of stress out of unpleasant or worrying examinations and procedures.

    I attended the Urology outpatients to have my catheter changed. The nurse came to me in the waiting room to advised me would be about 10 mins late for my appointment and to check I was OK. As usual the nurse was both friendly and efficient when I was taken for my procedure. Unfortunately the nurse on this occasion found it impossible to fit a catheter although she tried many times. Fortunately she managed to get a person from the minor ops dept. close by to try. Again they were unsuccessful in inserting a catheter. I was then taken to the minor ops dept. to await further investigation and treatment. My original nurse did not leave me until she was sure I was being cared for and in good hands. I didn't have to wait long before I was taken in to have a camera inserted to find the correct entry point and a wire trace put in for the catheter to follow. I left satisfied I had received excellent treatment by all the staff who were at all times friendly and smiling. I cannot praise the staff in the urology enough for their excellent work, Southend Univerity Hospital can be very proud of them all.

    My wife and I attended the above unit from 9.00am to 14.00pm. We are both extremely grateful for the very kind, professional and considerate service provided to my wife. The entire Staff Group are worthy of the highest praise, and have our full support in the search for a fair and well deserved pay settlement. Please accept our sincere gratitude.

    I visited ENT Department December 1st for the first time for my Tinnitus and hearing problems. I was treated very professionally and kindly. I couldn't praise the two people we saw first for my hearing and then for my Tinnitus enough. We couldn't have had a better experience all the staff were brilliant.

    I was diagnosed with a bladder cancer and in 3 weeks got surgery, urology staff is a fantastic team, I want mention the staff of Recovery Unit for all help they gave me, last to mention as well is the staff of Princess Anne ward, I conclude with a enormous thank you to all.

    Need to tell us what building or floor cardiology is located, when sending a text appointment, is which is very unhelpful, especially when you can’t get through to anyone on the phone.

    My very Ill father was sent to hospital in an ambulance as medically expected. He waited 28 hours in a dirty portacabin with no food. After complaining numerous times to extremely rude nurses through the night we were sent to see a sister the next morning who was horrified by our experience. We saw somebody superior who apologised but could not help us. The nurses I have had experience with had made me accept the nhs is broken. My experience has not seen overworked staff just inefficiency and totally unacceptable service

    I was suffering from postural hypertension. I cannot praise the whole hospital enough. These doctors nuses and auxiliaries are under so much pressure. I was at 1st in the ambulance handover hub. Then admitted to A & E I was then looked after by wards Edmund Stone and Eastwood Ward Considering how busy these people are they gave me the best treatment during my stay and they deserve every penny of a payrise. I cannot thank you all enough for all your kindness and hard work for getting me better. Please support your local hospital it is an amazing hospital with amazing staff
