    On 28/11/22 I had a hip replacement. The operation was efficiently carried out and successful. The ward staff were unfailingly helpful and pleasant, if under pressure at times due to staffing levels. Post-discharge followup from the E R A N team was excellent. My only reservation is about the unnecessarily complex admission/pre op process, which involved avoidable hospital visits and multiple duplications of tests/paperwork. Overall, a good experience.

    I wanted to pass on my compliments to the emergency treatment unit at Southend hospital, I had a fall today and was undecided whether to go as I knew I could be waiting for ages. I arrived at 1.30 saw a nurse, had x-rays, stitches, splint on my hand and a tetanus jab, all within an hour. Thank you so much, I was very impressed. You all do a wonderful job

    had a very bad I thought gallbladder attack Saturday morning. The pain elevated till Sunday morning in severe pain. We went to A&E after 5 hours horrendous pain(it's sound horrible to wait so long in pain but they working inside so hard that they be able to see people) I got in to see the assessing nurse, got oral morphine, they sent me out to wait for to see a doctor. The Oral Morphine helped nothing. Second dose still helped nothing. After nother 2h waiting I got to see a doctor who straight away picked it out that I have something else going on than my gallbladder stones. Thank you for the doctor, they kept me in overnight on antibiotics and drips. Blood test, ECG Monday morning had a CT scan. And result was perforated appendix. Monday early afternoon had a surgery, It all went well. Thank you for all the team, nurses, health care assistants, anaesteoligist, doctors, surgeons.

    On 6Th October an urgent 2 week referral wad made for me by my GP surgery for suspected skin cancer.Two weeks later still waiting, I cannot get through to dermatology on the telephone nor can I get an appointment at the doctors,at 78 year old what am I supposed to do?

    I had to go to audiology today , my appointment was made within a few weeks , they were always on time , spent as kind as I needed , no rush , I really felt looked after and I can now hear again

    I have been waiting since August for a colonoscopy and finally got a letter on the 19th October to contact them which I did. Arranged for a appointment and was told a letter and instructions would be sent to me, and it arrived Monday morning. When I opened it I was surprised to see not only a letter but a lot of forms to read through, it did say you could ring up for information if you wanted to because to be honest I found it to be a lot of paperwork for a out patient procedure, never experienced anything like this before. I rang the department and asked to speak to a medical professional but the person I spoke to kept asking me what it was about and I kept telling her, but she didn't seem to understand me this was making me anxious and then she accused me of shouting at her! This is uncalled for, patients should be treated with respect not spoken to by a rude receptionist. This has put me off of going for this test now.

    Myself and my 16 yr son attended a&e 2/10/22, the department was overwhelming busy, but the care that my son received I can not fault. Doctors were quick to Diagnose with pneumothorax. All staff members involved from triage, to obs , to doctors to nursing staff to the porters showed nothing but empathy and kindness. Within the extremely busy departments took the time to listen to myself and my son, and not make the process or experience feel rushed!what was clearly a stressful shift for staff , absolutely did not reflect on the treatment received. Thank you, you kindness made my anxiety as a mum feel a little less overwhelming

    Had my 12 week scan today at Southend hospital, the whole experience was lovely from the lady in reception to the gentleman who performed my scan. Found out I'm measuring a week behind and he reassured me that that is normal. booked me in to be seen again in 10 days and let me listen to the heart beat for so long, baby wouldn't stop moving and it was just so so reassuring. Thank you so much

    For 3 years I’ve looked after my (dementia) father’s hearing needs and aids problems, as out patient and now an in-patient. audiology staff are reliably helpful with a problem solving, patient centred attitude. Thank you.

    Had to visit A and E for heart checkover, went in at 7pm left at 3am staff very good and friendly but very understaffed thought waiting time was a bit excessive but others had been waiit for 12hrs+ Needs a review and extra staff to combat the amount of patients
