    After having a phone consultation in July with this department which my mum has been under before the first lockdown I was not happy that the consultant could not give me reply to any of my concerns. I have rang the department and have spoken to the secretary twice left a message and then speaking to her has they did not get back to me I was told by her that she will speak to the consultant and call me back has I would like a face to face appointment for my mum I again did not get a call back I appreciate that the hospital are busy but you cannot say one thing and do another.I am very concerned about my mum .

    I took my daughter this evening and I’ve never experienced such rude behaviour. I used to work in this department and never would I have ever made anyone feel how I was made to feel ! I was taught to treat people with kindness and empathy. I understand everyone is tired and busy but I would still be humble regardless of a bad shift. I felt like a criminal and everything I said (of course I don’t know what’s going on I’m a worried mum) but it was shut down with a rude response and then there was no dignity at all when it came to giving my female pre teen an ECG ! Then after waiting for 5 hours !!! Which I also understand people are poorly and it’s busy. The dr made me feel like I was totally stupid and again like a bad parent!

    5 hours in A&E, not seen, more & more patients came...4 doctors there but they saw on average 1 patient every 2 hours?? A boss is needed in A&E to ensure the doctors are working in a timely manner & they definitely need targets to achieve, it was very clear a boss was needed to organise them & crack the whip.

    Please pass on our thanks the A&E staff. Every staff member we encountered was polite, professional and great with our little boy. Particular thanks to your lovely XRay team. They knew just how to interact with our small son and make him feel safe and comfortable. That is so appreciated.

    Treating humans as I observed last night at Southend A&E is wrong ! 9 hour wait no food or drinks given out . No updates ! 12 ambulances in car park with patients in . 8 hours wait for bed once you had been seen and needed admitting. What is going on! Our NHS has become the worse run organisation I have ever witnessed . Offers a service i would expect of a third world country. I witnessed all this first hand last night I was appalled at some of the sorry sights I saw in the waiting room . I am now worried for my well-being if I needed emergency Help !!

    Was taken to the stroke ward, staff were brilliant, the care I received could not be faulted. The food was good although breakfast not being served until about 9.30am meant I didn’t get a hot drink from 6pm the previous evening and I would have liked a cup of tea when I woke up. Staff work extremely hard and we’re very helpful and very informative. My only criticism is the noise at night. It is impossible to sleep due to being general very noisy (door banging loudly, chairs being dragged across the floor, beepers although necessary very loud and continuous) all of which made me very agitated when I just wanted peace and quiet to be able to sleep.)

    I had seviour chest pain and I called 111 for help. I've been told by Dr on call, that I shouldn't move and she gonna send an ambulance to take me to hospital. After about 45 minutes someone called and said they don't have ambulance to take me, so it's better to go by myself to a&e . I gone to hospital and noticed 12 ambulance standing there with staffs who gathered and laughing and joking and etc.... I'm paying my tax every year and I expecting to receive a acceptable service too. Yet this experience with Southend hospital was completely disappointing.

    I just want to thank all the staff on the Maternity wards- I was in Friday- Sunday to be induced and the care I was given, checks made for me and baby were fantastic. I cannot say a bad word for any of the teams day or night. I was put at ease and felt safe and calm. Thankyou for the care given.

    The care I got when I was on the cardiology ward was excellent, since being discharged I have Had all the follow up tests the consultant requested, but am now struggling to get a follow up appointment which he requested for after 3 months for the results. As I have a tear in one of the coronary arteries this is causing me a lot of stress
