Review titled Exceptional Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Hywel Davies - Posted on 04 July 2024
The people who cared for my mother during her last days were without exception, kind, professional and hard working. They made her final hours peaceful and dignified. I will always be grateful to them. The NHS is a remarkable organisation and is fortunate in having such exceptional people working for it.

Review titled Makes a change
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Oliver - Posted on 26 July 2024
I have just had the best experience at the Minor Injuries unit at Southmead Hospital in Bristol. Over the past couple of years I have found every interaction with the NHS terrible but today was a showcase of how it should be run. I went straight to the lady at the desk who was super helpful and pleasant. I was then seen by the doctor (can't remember what his name was but he deserves all the praise he can get) in 20 mins, then by the x-ray where I had a lovely student radiologist (think that is what they are called), who was lovely and then seen again by the doctor. In and out within 90 minutes with the most friendly staff and best service. The hospital was clean and pleasant. 100% will be returning when I inevitably injure myself again! Hats off to you all at Southmead hospital. The first time I have ever given a review for the NHS, so impressed.

Review titled amazing service
Rated 1 star out of 5

I came in with severe back pain, which was renal colic - I was seen by a triage nurse, consultant in charge and had a CT within 1 hour. I was in extreme pain and the nurses were amazingly quick in providing analgesia. The urology registrar came down as soon as he was contacted and was very informative, kind and extremely helpful. Truly amazing service from a+e and urology.

I attended A&E and had to stay 2 nights on the neurology ward. I cannot fault the care I received. Staff were friendly, kind and highly experienced, communicated well with me throughout. I had all the appropriate investigations and was taken seriously, treated with dignity and respect. I work for the NHS myself and makes me proud to be part of this organisation. Thank you so much

Review titled Outstanding care at the Breast Clinic
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Linda Lawrence - Posted on 11 July 2024
I received outstanding care at the Breast Centre Clinic. I initially attended for a mammogram, ultrasound scan and a biopsy. I subsequently attended an appointment for a vacuum excision. At every stage the kindness, help, support and skill of every member of the team was exceptional. The greeting you receive on arrival, being collected and escorted to the treatment room, having procedures clearly explained and then being undertaken with such expertise and skill is extraordinary. Results were discussed by phone with consultants who explained clearly the next steps and this was very reassuring and incredibly helpful. Thank you for everything you do with such care.

Review titled release pathway not discussed, just put in place
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 June 2024
After a long stay in A'E my husband was on a ward. Medical care good but almost no physio, they just seem to assume that after a few steps he is ready for home, we are both very elderly and no one discussed with me the ongoing pathway which he was put on, I felt slightly bullied and walked over, with my health and ability to cope being ignored, I know they need the beds, I can give a high score to the medical staff but I think that because he is old physio wanted to send him home and expect him to become bed-bound. I asked after Home first but was told it was not available at Southmead hospital which I know is incorrect. I expected to see him dumped on the doorstep without warning. This has caused great stress for both of us

My dad was admitted to Southmead hospitals A&E department by NHS 111 services. We did have to wait for couple of hours but were treated with respect and staff was working very hard. After all the necessary test he was admitted to stay in hospital for a week. He was looked and cared after well. Thank you so much to all staff members!

Review titled Urology dept , laser stone treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Steve - Posted on 20 May 2024
After 4 rounds of unsuccessful lithotripsy, I was finally Booked in for laser treatment, Every single person from reception To nurses, anaesthetist to consultant were absolutely outstandingly Helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and the care was brilliant. My one simple tiny complaint is I would have like to have had a little bit of communication after my operation. However I take on board They are super busy and have a lot of patients to deal with. Sincere grateful thanks.
