    Could not fault the A&E department for my husband. After a real scare the previous evening, we arrived in A&E to welcoming staff and a clean waiting area. The staff were so informative and caring it made us feel in professional hands. Thank you so so much for making us feel reassured.

    I came in with my autistic son, the Doctor listened to him and communicated with him with compassion and patience. He was dealt with quickly and efficiently as he was feeling very overwhelmed and anxious. We also met some really lovely auxiliary staff who helped him with a wheelchair after overhearing about his difficulties.

    Had to take my 91 year old Mother to fracture clinic I drove from Somerset to South Glos then to Southmead and reverse journey home. I had trouble getting Wheelchair attended on time. Had two mins with Dr then that was it. Left feeling this appt was a complete waste of everyone’s time. Could this not have been done by GP.

    GP letter with instructions on how to make appointment. I go to website I enter a reference number I enter the password I select the clinic Result is "there are no appointments available in this clinic. Choose another clinic". I return to the last page. There is only that one clinic listed. I try the next day. Same result. 1:My question: What is the point in this farce. 2: For the record, at the time of my attempt today - Pre attempt BP 128/77 pulse 59 Post attempt BP 146/82 pulse 70 My thoughts: Might as well give up, this is just the latest knock-back.

    Attended TIA clinic yesterday. From start to finish, friendly and professional all tests completed in 2 hours, MRI, Carotid scan etc. seen by dr after, full report clearly given and advice for future health, time given for questions. All staff kind and efficient. Really impressed, thank you so much .

    I've had a hysterectomy with added extras. I was quite unwell and I am grateful for everyone who helped me. Many thanks to a fantastic ward. You truly are life savers.

    Admitted with heamaturia, abdominal pain and urinary retention on 3 successive occasions. first occasion 26/3 on ward 34 subsequent two visits 31/3 and 2/4 to ward 32 . The staff without exception were warm friendly and professional. Hospital is an alien environment for most of us but the care and attention given made my stays less daunting. It is a pity that you have a no names policy because although all the staff I encountered were fantastic a number deserve special mention. I witnessed a very "trying" patient being treated as well as the rest in the ward without any negativity from the staff. My only criticism would be the food but I accept that with the number of patients and budget constraints this is inevitable. My experience tells me that if a friend or relative was admitted I can be sure that they would receive the best care and treatment available.

    Following a call to 111 It was recommended I go to a&e I was seen promptly and a follow up appointment was made for further assessment which was today. Again I was seen promptly and met with very polite, caring and knowledgeable staff who explained how my injured finger would be treated and how long it would take to heal etc. like most families there have been other times when we have needed the wonderful staff at Southmead hospital to look after us and with much more serious conditions than my finger! Each department has served us very well and indeed we owe our lives to them. Thank you so much for all you do.

    I went to A&E last week for an episode of heart palpitation and dizziness. Even though I was pretty upset and agitated, everybody was absolutely great to me, from the volunteer who queued with me to calm me down to the nurses and the doctor who visited me! The screening they performed was quite thorough and extensive but above all I want to thank them for how they treated me and calmed me down when I was anxious and upset. I wish you all the best, you have my whole gratitude! (Last but not least, I was in and out in less than two hours)

    I had an MRI head scan on 17/2/23 to monitor a very small meningioma brain tumour. Over 2 months later (it will be 9 weeks on Friday) I cannot get the result. The secretary’s phone is constantly on answerphone and messages are not responded to. The recorded answerphone message asks people not to leave repeat messages. What am I to do? Wait indefinitely or give up expecting a result?
