  1. Review titled Nameless management, a curse

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Clive Weatherley - Posted on 13 September 2023

To the nurses, other care team individuals, Doctors and Surgeons - Brilliant, superb service, caring and engaged, thank you..thank you. To the nameless management who had me hanging around for 12 hours getting dressed and undressed twice for my operation, thanks for nothing. If it’s wasn’t for intervention of a different surgical team I would have had to wait again for a repair from another operation I had over three years ago. Again thanks to all and a shame on the management who has probably already got an excuse from their excuse playbook. I am registered disabled (severely sight impaired -blind) my wife also waited for those 12 hours and at one stage believed my operation had gone wrong through complications) fortunately a nurse contacted her and gave her reassurance. My wife could have just gone home and picked me up later. Morning surgery normally means 3 or 4 hours not 12.

  2. Review titled Great experience today

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Excellent service from the Pharmacy team and Aseptics, when I was checking if my cancer drug would be ready for collection. I have to do this every 3 weeks, and they are always helpful when I call, and when I come in to collect. Thank you

  3. Review titled Superb Care of my 93 year old mother

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Christine Lesley Clarke - Posted on 21 August 2023

From the Admission nurse to the Doctors my mother was dealt with in an extremely polite, caring empathetic way. When the hard working doctor forgot to refer mother for her scan once advised that she had been waiting for 2 hours the admission nurse saw that she was dealt with promptly. A & E was horrendously busy but after the initial delay and due to the pain she was experiencing my mother was dealt with very quickly. I should like to commend all your staff for their hard work, dedication and cheerfulness during such trying times. Thank you

  4. Review titled Amazing care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I just want to say thank you to all your amazing staff in this hospital. I went to A and E and was admitted for a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. Every member of staff, every medic was so kind and caring, given the sensitive situation. I was in and out after less than 24 hours after emergency surgery and was cared for so well. I am not local and on holiday here from Surrey and could not have been looked after better, staff holding my hand and reassuring me during a scary time. Thank you to you all- it was so appreciated!

My mother had a bad fall and broke the neck of her Femur. She underwent surgery and I should like to express her families congratulations to all staff concerned from A&E to the operating team and all staff on Middleton Ward. She was in for 9 days and the care she received was second to none. A member of staff even forwarded 2 cards that arrived for my mother after she had been discharged which we all feel was more than could be expected when you are so very busy. Thank you.

  6. Review titled Not taken seriously

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 August 2023

After 3 months of being in agony with my back and housebound, unable to walk. I finally plucked up the courage to attend a&e and sit it out, even on the floor if necessary with a pillow to diagnose and treat my back. My aim was to get an mri because Xrays at the chiropractor had only shown scoliosis. The man on triage directed me to a gp in outpatients where I asked, slightly confused, if they were able to order mri’s. He told me they could. It turned out they could not! I’m in my 30’s, it seems they were not taking me seriously at all because of my age. It was like seeing my normal gp! utterly useless as they only have the power to refer you to a specialist. So I went home still in agony and unable to walk. Appaling service! Not to mention the girl on the a&e reception was incredibly rude when I said I couldn’t stand for longer than a few seconds and kept saying, just hold on a moment.!? no I’m in pain? What type of a&e service is this where they aren’t treating and diagnosing people in huge pain!?

I came in on the 16/08/2023 at (22:00) with a head injury that was split open and bleeding I said I felt dizzy and sick and in a lot of pain took 1 hour to been seen by the triage who gave me painkillers and told me that it is a 4.5 hour wait it is now the 17/08/2003 at (06:00) and still not been seen by a dr that is 8 hour’s feeling sick dizzy and in pain while sitting with a split head in the waiting room this is absolutely appalling and awful service as a head injury if not be treated properly can turn very serious

From the paramedic taking me into A&E I received excellent care and treatment. All the staff were friendly, considerate and caring. Everyone was friendly, cheerful and professional and answered any questions I had. This is the best hospital I have been in. Thank you to all concerned.

  9. Review titled Care fir my mum

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen - Posted on 03 September 2023

My mum was cared for first in A and E and then on Burdham ward for a week before she very sadly passed away . I have been wanting to write to sincerely thank all those involved in my mums care- she was treated with the utmost respect and professionalism and her every need both medically and emotional was very thoughtfully considered . This included nurses holding her hand and cuddling her when she was scared in the middle of night on many occasions . As a family going through this difficult time we were guided and supported by the most wonderful team of nurses who went over and beyond anything I could have expected to look after my mum and my family and I will never be able to thank them all enough . I would like to write to the hospital directly so that I can mention them all by name so can you advise the best email address to use so that I can say thank you to those incredibly kind people directly . Thank you so much . God bless yoU
