  1. Review titled So reassuring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Elaine H - Posted on 29 July 2023

I was taken to A and E for heart monitoring - the triage nurse who dealt with me was lovely, professional, friendly and reassuring. I cannot fault the treatment I received - although they were busy. I did not have to wait and was treated with care and compassion. Excellent example of what the NHS does well.

  4. Review titled Under staffed to a dangerous level

Rated 1 star out of 5

5 hours waiting. Finally got to see the doctor. A very nice doctor. She took bloods. But the results were not back 3 hours later. No air con. Very hot waiting room full of stressed people with children. Finally I asked had my results come? No. There's a glitch. So I asked them to ring me if it came back as a clot as I had a mini stroke awhile back. I still don't know results. The fast rules went out the window.

  5. Review titled No human contact

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Patricia - Posted on 25 June 2023

I fell getting out of bed at 2am and hit my forehead on the corner of the radiator. I had a nasty gash which my husband said needed a stitch so we went to St Richards A&E where I had to fill in a lot of irrelevant questions on a screen. After nearly half an hour not a single person sitting waiting had had any interaction with an NHS staff member. I decided that rather than waiting forever, I would get my husband to try to tape my gash together at home. I think instead of paying people to sit behind a screen and relying on technology to do their work, the NHS needs to use their receptionist to interact with the people in the waiting room advising them what is happening and how long it is likely to be before they will be seen by a medic. Not impressed with St Richards use of technology while the receptionist is left to chat to colleagues instead of interacting with their patients. By the way most of the screens seemed to be out of order, but fortunately I was the only person who had to use one at that moment. Sad situation thinking that machines can replace human interaction.

I was admitted to your hospital as an emergency and want to express my thanks for the care and treatment I received. All the staff I met (including of course, the ambulance crew), were kind, courteous and totally professional and St Richard's and the NHS are very lucky to have them, as are the public. I've always been a huge fan of the NHS and you've surpassed all expectation. Thank you.

I accompanied my relative who was in a wheelchair to dermatology outpatients where she had a minor operation. The staff were so friendly and professional and explained all they were doing and why. Could not fault them at all.

I had a very positive experience, with friendly and very professional staff from the moment I arrived till my wife collected me.The endoscopy is a very uncomfortable experience,my colon has in the past been tricky to survey and difficult, the staff checked with my previous consultant on the spot in order to see if there were any areas where they could make it easier, they did and it was. That is service over and above!!!
