    Both gents toilets near main entrance were out of order 9:30am 25/02. No staff knew where any others were and there was nobody on reception. The signage directs you to the ones that were broken. I eventually found one in the restaurant; although the toilets were not shown on the sign. I am not supposed to be weight bearing on my knee, but ended up doing 2500 steps, searching for the toilets. Please improve signage

    I was massively impressed by my treatment after having a stroke or TIA. The nurses and doctors worked carefully to diagnose my symptoms and although they initially thought that I had a TIA, one consultant after recognising my slight difficulty in left hand coordination asked for further tests and It was confirmed I had a stroke. Again after that, a variety of staff took various measures to determine the consequences of the stroke...All staff (including porters and medical) in same day emergency care unit and ward for stroke patients a were fantastic and also supportive.

    Broke my collar bone and visited an and e where I was given a sling and told my injury would heal by itself. Two days later I received a call to say I needed to attend fracture clinic there we saw a lovely guy who said the injury would not heal correctly without surgery. He carefully explained how the procedure would take place and we went away feeling reassured that there would be minimal scarring and the metal work probably wouldn’t need taken out. However I got an appointment for my surgery without seeing the consultant first and when I saw him on the day he told me he was operating completely differently so I felt completely blind sided and like I had no choice but to go ahead with it. Where as I should have had an appointment with him first so I could have asked questions as to why he wasn’t doing it the way I had been told in the first place which apparently causes less scarring and less chance of needing metal work removed very disappointed to have not had this chance to discuss before it was going to be done. The day case needs to be rethought I was asked to get there at 11 I sat in the waiting room for over 1 hour 30 then seen to the ward but didn’t actually get to theatre till 3pm I nearly didn’t get to come home because it was so late. This really needs thought it would be much better to stagger arrival so you are not waiting around for hours on end. Felt the communication was poor the consultant who did my surgery was very good but sadly not happy with the fact I signed up to one thing and ended up with a much more cosmetically disappointing outcome and probably the need for further surgery to remove metal work. Can’t fault the care of the nurses and drs but think communication needs a serious shake up. You should not be having surgery without an appointment to see your consultant first.

    Was with my dad who was swiftly checked into A & E on a Sunday morning then triaged within 30 mins . Then ultrasound scanned and bloods taken in the next hour awaiting results. The triage nurse even followed up with my dad even though she was about to clock making sure I was thier to interpret and even facilitated me speaking to Urology DR for immediate referral. Truly caring staff. We should be grateful for our country's NHS and staff. Go get a quote privately for the services and you soon realise the true cost of health care. Keep up the good work.

    May I thank the two ambulance crews who attended our retirement home last night. Very professional and caring how they dealt with a difficult situation.     We spent 4 hours trying to go through the 111 system to be told to come to the A & E Department at Stepping Hill Hospital, this was with my elderly father. The hospital at Macclesfield told us to come to see the Urologist as this service is not available there. We have been seen by the triage nurse no bloods or cannula cited. The expected waiting time is 7 hours, sat in a chair all through the night which for my father and his problem is not acceptable to us. Observations have been taken x 3. I have been trying to get my father sorted from yesterday evening, it is now the following morning. I believe the 111 system does not work effectively and too much time is wasted waiting for people to call back. When you are triaged at one hospital to be told to go to another this time is not taken into account.

The department and hospital was experiencing periods of significant demand and unfortunately this impacted waiting times, however, I will share your feedback with the team so they are aware and can action as appropriate.     Having had 2 appointments in the Opthalmology dept. In the last 6 weeks I'm very impressed that there were no long wait times despite all the different tests I needed the process was all very efficient. All the staff were lovely and friendly. Opthalmology team in outpatients B deserve a big clap on the back a very well run service 5 stars from me. I really hope this gets fed back to them.
