    From the moment I walked into a and e, my treatment was fantastic, from everyone. I was on d8, then the high dependency unit, then d6. The care I received was amazing, the nurses worked so hard and took time to ensure I was ok and explained what was happening. Care on the hd unit was exceptional, Dr's found time to speak to my family, who were so worried, and I would like to thank everyone involved in my care. Food was pretty good and always hot. Thank you Stepping Hill.

  2. Review titled I’ve had to wait for over an hour

    The last two times at the clinic I’ve had to wait for over an hour in the main waiting room. I get that it gets busy and delays happen, but not an hour each time. Today, I waited an hour in the waiting room. I then sat alone in the treatment room for half an hour before leaving to speak to the nurses. My consultant was on the phone, they said. I returned to the empty treatment room where I sat alone again for another half an hour before having to leave to collect my children. The reason I’m taking the time to write this is a) it’s pretty frustrating waiting around when you work for yourself and so are not getting paid, but b) how are the processes not picking up that someone has been left alone for an hour in a treatment room? Very friendly staff, but not really good enough.

    I would like to thank the ambulance staff and A&E staff for their excellent care for my husband today who had a suspected TIA. I think we were very lucky that it was an unusual 'quieter' day, as they always run off their feet, but due to the nature of the emergency the ambulance came quickly and we were treated by all the NHS staff with the utmost care and friendliness. They couldn't do enough for us.

    Waiting room in d5 is shockingly awful. Staff allowing other patients to play amplified music on mobile phones that everyone in the waiting room is expected to tolerate. Not helpful for attempts to stay calm before surgery. Made to feel like the bad guy for raising this. This situation was not helpful for someone experiencing extreme anxiety and the challenge from the staff member to my complaint brought on a panic attack, which meant I had to leave the hospital and postpone my surgery.... This was a rude member of admin staff who basically said tough... its a free country! Nice - thanks !

    Good afternoon, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us and I am sorry to hear about your experience in the waiting room of D5. I have spoken to the ward Manager who acknowledged your concerns and agrees that the space is not ideal due to its size and the number of people needing to wait on some days. This has been raised as part of their risk register and have requested to be relocated. Please be assured that the team are looking at a solution to this and thank you for your feedback as this is helpful. The ward Manager has also spoken to the admin staff member about your concerns.     My husband has been in a week during the hot weather, no sufficient ventilation or fans to help patients and staff. Food has to be the worst of any hospital I've visited. He's lost a vast amount of weight, food either not what was ordered, cold, congealed (cut gravy with a knife) a teaspoon to eat soup from a bowl and 'no' before anyone asks he could not hold the bowl to drink it. He has no feeling in his fingers and was looking forward to ice cream, sadly it turned out to be 'hot rice pudding' only acceptable meals were cornflakes in the mornings. Mainly pies, hard pasty, no meat or hard meat, often no pudding at all. I am staggered at how bad the food is, never had any fresh vegetables - shocking, how do they expect vulnerable patients to recover. A recent stay in The Christie was like a five star hotel in comparison.

    Went for a minor op , staff were so nice and comforting looked after from beginning to end , after the op tea and biscuits and everything explained to me .

    my mum came in by ambulance(there in no time) all the staff were amazing. she has late stage alzheimers. she had so many tests within 2 hours of being there, no waiting around. she was transferred to amu very briefly then b4. Staff here were amazing too! they really have such a difficult job on this ward . so Impressed by the dementia passports thank you!

    All the staff were kind, considerate, helpful and friendly. Very professional. I certainly didn't expect, or want, to be in hospital, but they made it as pleasant as possible. Everything was carefully explained. Thank you to everybody!

    My dad was bought into the HASU today. I just wanted to thank all the team for looking after him and my mum so well. The team were friendly, professional and went above and beyond. He was tested and had 3 scans. Can’t say thank you enough to the team for making a horrible experience a lot easier.
