  1. Review titled MDU

Rated 1 star out of 5

My wife was sent to A&E by a pharmacist when we got there we were sent to MDU and then sat down to wait when we arrived there were 10 people, 8 hours later there were still the same 10 people with no idea how long to wait. How can it be that no one had been seen it’s ridiculous the slow movement of patients my wife is diabetic and had no medication and the staff weren’t interested. I know people should be patient but surely you should see some movement.

  2. Review titled Appalling conditions

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 March 2023

I was made an appointment with 111 to attend this a&e today for my 3 year old daughter who is healthy apart from the minor issue she had to be seen for. I walked into this a&e and I was smacked in the face with a tiny room with huge amounts of adults and kids all ages crammed into this one area?! Not enough seating for everyone either, some where standing quite close to the entrance door at the reception, I was waiting for ages to be seen by the reception to be told my appointment didn’t matter I would have to wait?! I filled in the form, heard a lot of illnesses around me and decided to leave to the shock of the receptionist. My daughter would have definitely got ill if I had to wait numerous hours in this appalling condition. I have been in a few different a&e’s for children from Scotland and in England over the years and I can say I have never ever came across such a tiny cramped appalling dirty one in all my life!! I will never be taking any of my kids to this a&e! This hospital should be ashamed of this kids a&e unit waiting area conditions. I came out of there shocked, upset with the conditions I was expected to sit with my child waiting to be seen. This hospital needs to do something about this, it’s appalling in this day and age that a children’s a&e is in an appalling state in this hospital. I still now can’t believe what I saw?! If you have a choice, do not take your previous children to this a&e.

  3. Review titled Extremely poor care

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 March 2023

As a medical professional myself I am only too aware of how busy A&E depts are but that does not excuse poor and unsafe patient care. Leaving a pt with suspected TIA for 8 hours sat in a chair with no medication given and other tests only done after 4 hrs of waiting after I had to speak to the reception is completely unacceptable. Do you even follow NICE guidance? Prioritising pts Health is supposed to be a given and whilst this dept is always busy this really does not excuse poor care. I really wouldn’t want any of my family members to be close to death here because tonight I’ve watched patients screaming in pain being ignored. The system isn’t just broken it’s unsafe and I could not work in a place that allows such poor care to be delivered. The A&E dept is an accident waiting to happen. I’d rather travel an hour to the next nearest hospital than to take my mother here again. Disappointing is an understatement.

  4. Review titled Refused entry

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Emma Young - Posted on 28 March 2023

My daughter visited the a&e department with a broken ankle on the advice of Chesterfield Royal hospital where she was refused entry by a nurse who didn't even open the door for her sent her back to rugby. Emma had a boot on her foot and crutches . I find the treatment of my daughter by a supposed health care professional totally unacceptable

  5. Review titled Animals are better treated

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 March 2023

Visited an over run AE dept . It’s now been made smaller so not enough seats it was like musical chairs everyone having to move around . Dirty toilets . Rude a noxious receptionist spoke to everyone like dirt . Left sitting on a hard uncomfy chair for 23 hours whilst waiting for a bed . No food or drink offered in that time . Animals get better treatment . Staff have no empathy and it’s like you are an inconvenience to them . No pain relief for 23 hours is shocking despite asking every hour for some . The junior doctor and the male day receptionist were the only people who treated me like I mattered . In 24 hours the toilet was not cleaned once it was disgusting and no way should a hospital facility be in that state I will travel to the QE in future for any treatment .

  6. Review titled Brilliant hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I would like to thank the consultant and his team along with the nursing staff, care assistants, and plaster team who made my stay at the hospital a pleasant one. Without their support and guidance, I would have made the progress I have made to date. Thank you to all of you.

  7. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 January 2023

We were sent over to Coventry children’s a&e department by rugby st cross, all I can say is pure filth !! The hospital waiting area was filthy I was waiting there for 6+ hours with my 3 month old baby and not once did anyone come around and clean/wipe surfaces or chairs and with the amount of people and children coming through the doors you would think it would be a priority to keep the area clean, we are more ill leaving the hospital than when we first arrived! The bins were over flowing in the waiting area and also the toilet bin, when we eventually went through to be seen the bed sheet was full of dirty marks, I also can’t believe they let children wait that long without providing any toys/games or even colouring for them to do !! Would never recommend it’s a shame that’s my closest a&e

  8. Review titled Extreme a appalled

Rated 1 star out of 5

We got into hopistal we explained patient wasn't safe around other people due to mental health issues they completely disregarded that and made everyone unsafe, so they made us wait outside for a room and then They put us in a room and then paient had sezuires and then because patient went used all their strength with carers help to go the toliet they then removed then remove the room making the patient wait outside or sit next to an area with police in that would traumatise patient due to ptsd when the patient wanted to die and was suffering from schizophrenia and multiple personalitys the patient ended up going outside due to triggers of police and the staff not caring about this and this lead into a serious sezuire where they had to get help from Paramedics and nurse they got them onto a bed and they did not let me come in with them when I needed to as they suffer badly mentally and when patient woke up and started having an episode of phycocis looking for me they told them that I was a pest for asking for help for patients for their sezuires and I couldn't come back in the room go see them and made me sit in the waiting room and once patient got out of sezuire unsure where the patient was due to multiple personality disorder they threw themselves off the bed due to visions to go find carer who they wouldn't let into the room and crawled to the reception and reception shouted at patient saying it was stopping them doing their jobs and how selfish patient was to do

Came in after falling and splitting my head open pretty severely. I got seen within reasonable time, and everyone I dealt with throughout the night was absolutely amazing.

  10. Review titled Fantastic care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tracey Limebeer - Posted on 07 January 2023

I had to have major surgery and was booked in for 04/01/23. The hospital was spotless. The surgeon found me a bed and I was admitted. From the beginning to the end I was treated with care and respect. The various procedures were clearly explained so that i could understand what was going on. Each doctor came and introduced themselves and told me what they would be doing. The nursing staff were fantastic and the auxiliary staff also kind and caring. They made me feel special like I was the only one there. The macmillan transport made getting to the hospital and home again a doddle. They need support to carry on their work. Well done NHS. You are world class.
