Review titled Great experience
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Christine - Posted on 25 September 2024
Needing to take my 91 year old Grandpa with Alzeimahs to A&E in the evening was not ideal, it was so busy and we were in the corridor but wow did the staff work hard under the circumstances. They made sure my Grandad was comfortable, they put him at ease and explained everything they were doing. I believe he received the care he needed in a timely manner and his assessment by the frailty team was efficient meaning he could come home the next day. Discharge arrangements were made quickly and the communication was fantastic. Couldn’t have asked for anything better so thank you so much!

Review titled Wonderful Urgent Treatment Centre but some poor IT practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Bob Dyke - Posted on 21 September 2024
Just had an excellent experience with the Urgent Treatment Centre at Halton today, but the experience revealed that whoever has oversight of the Warrington Hospital IT system for patient information has a poor grasp of the task. We found that the Warrington Hospital main website gives the wrong phone code for Halton Hospital. It is given as 01925 instead of 01928. Caused some confusion at this end! Then we found an option to leave feedback via the PALS organisation. Write it up and sent it off, on,y to get the response “This mailbox is no longer monitored due to lack of use.”!!! Basic principle of IT communication - if the option is no longer available, don’t offer it. Then set out to use this present review facility. Had to obtain and enter an emailed code number for security. Received a ridiculously long code - “60A3AE01”. This is unnecessarily long. Six different digits (numbers only) are perfectly adequate for other organisations. This inappropriately long and complex string breaks another basic IT communication principle - don’t expect the user to memorise long and complex sequences of characters. I had to go and get a pen and a piece of paper. Luckily I was at home. It’s time to shake up the IT department!

Review titled Wonderful Care on Ward-a9
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 August 2024
I would just like to say thank you to the staff on Ward-a9 and in Geriatric Medicine for the care that they gave my grandmother when she was admitted. She said they were absolutely lovely. The clinicians kept us up to date with her care and were swift to treat her when she became more poorly on the ward. When I visited her I could see that that all the staff that interacted with her were friendly and genuinely cared about their patients. I would also like to thank the PTs and OTs as we were concerned about her discharge but they made sure she would be safe at home. Thank you to everyone involved in her care.

Review titled Wonderful care and aftercare.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Wynford - Posted on 14 August 2024
I would like to commend Halton Hospital cstm for the wonderful care and aftercare that I received after a recent procedure. The nurse who nursed me on the ward was kind and patient and always had time for my many questions about my care. Another nurse who kindly saw me after my release when I encountered a problem was also brilliant. Cheerful and again nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to both nurses and to the whole ward who made my stay as pleasant as it could be . This ward is a credit to Warrington and Halton Hospital.

Review titled Purpose of reviews ?
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mike F - Posted on 28 July 2024
I had a negative experience with your A&E department recently .. I subsequently received an anonymous survey regarding my recent experience I rated my experience as very poor. For some reason my survey response wasn't accepted I therefore went onto the patient reviews section on the NHS official website and relayed my negative experience there instead That too was rejected What is the purpose of having various review platforms if negative experiences are excluded

Review titled Amazing staff in pediatrics
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Georgie - Posted on 14 June 2024
3rd time in the last month sadly having to come to a&e with my 15 month old daughter. All 3 times the staff have been absolutely amazing. They have made sure my daughter and myself were comfortable and looked after. It makes the whole a&e and hospital experience so much easier when the nurses are fabulous with the children. Hopefully we won't have to come again soon but I do know if we ever need too my daughter will be in the best hands as they work very hard and I appreciate their care so much. They are pushed with time and resources and are extremely helpful and caring.

Review titled Totally unacceptable wait
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Stephen Wilson - Posted on 07 June 2024
Spent 8hours here and still waiting to see a doctor . I was referred here by my GP at Birchwood Medical Centre,Warrigton at 11:00am today. It is now almost 21:00 and I am yet to receive treatment. I have reduced immunity due to current chemotherapy treatment and have spent the last 8hours sitting in this very unhealthy environment.
