Review titled Hearing Aids
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by David Littlewood - Posted on 10 January 2024
Visited audiology dept recently and have now been fitted with hearing aids. The process was conducted in a professional and friendly manner. I am learning to get used to new hearing and am thankful I can hear so much better - people and birds too.

Review titled Excellent experience of accident and emergency
Rated 4 stars out of 5

From the second I met mum at hospital, they knew where mum was at reception whom was so welcoming. Ambulance crew was fantastic and so helpful fetching and bringing pillows, and helping so she could have her nebuliser as I had to give all her 15 boxes of meds to her in corridor. The staff around was so polite and smiled all the time despite the intense situation of many waiting on corridors. Helpful and polite all of them I encountered. In High Care unit they again was incredible, being caring and so patient and thoughtful with mum and me. Advising and being so open and informative. Can’t thank all the nurses enough. Moved to ward 18 and already met with a lovely approach and helpfulness. Will review mums experience here also in a few days. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Review titled Care and compassion
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anne Richardson - Posted on 12 January 2024
Sent to a and e for a potentially very serious spinal emergency. Very nervous, upset. I cannot speak too highly of the staff working under tge most dreadful conditions, outdated building, crowded a and e. Not enough staff, rooms, beds. I was there hours but the care was exemplary from triage, nurses, doctors, porters, and the lovely lady bringing tea round. Please please pass my thanks on. They get so many criticisms, even abuse, but work so hard in extreme situations. They need more staff, better accommodation and better pay. Thank you.

Horrific treatment at the accident and emergency department leaves you traumatised. Staff are unprofessional, not trustworthy or reliable. Say things which have no basis of truth in them. I wouldnt receive treatment from this hospital go elsewhere.

I had a prostate biopsy done 16/11/2023. Can't remember the consultants name but he did a good job. No problems after. Didn't feel a thing after 9 pm the same day.

Review titled Excellent care given
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Suzanne Ramsey - Posted on 16 November 2023
My husband was admitted through the a&e with severe abdo pain. He was triaged quickly and efficiently to the major trauma area. I can not fault the care given. The staff are working under abominable stress, beds on corridors with sick people on them. Waiting times in A&E of over 20hrs for one gentleman I spoke to. Ambulances waiting outside waiting to off load. Ambulance entrance corridor full of people on beds. Every member of staff from the cleaner to the consultants working under extreme difficulties but doing their best. How has it got to this! I initially called an ambulance at 2:28 and was told it would be 40-45mins. After an hour it hadn't arrived, I called again and was advised to take him in my car so I told them to cancel the ambulance but neighbours said an ambulance arrived after we had already arrived at A&E! What a waste of an ambulance trip! The care my husband received by the staff was fantastic but the hospital is overwhelmed and not functioning as it should. It is not able to provide the service the local community desperately needs. Something urgently needs to be done.

I went in for a full hysterectomy, very fearful and racked with anxiety, I can't thank the staff on ward 5a and the theatre team enough! They went above and beyond supporting me from start to finish. Amazing group of very dedicated professionals. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Words will never be enough to thank each and everyone of you. God bless you all, will never forget your kindness.

Review titled Very worrying
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Carla heath - Posted on 02 January 2024
Turned up in agony a&e for assistance could not go the toilet bladder issues Was not seen in 9 hours and was told “ we are working within a broken system “ one nurse who was there complained to me that she was undertaking duties that she’s not qualified to do however short staffed she was asked to do so Very concerning to be told this as patient not to mention the waiting time When I gave up and left in no better condition than what was when arrived I seen 17 people waiting on trolleys in corridors for beds I counted them all I cried all the way home thinking this is our nhs system gone right down hill. It’s very scary to see when you have worked paid your national insurance and this is what you get? Really ? Is this the way we are going to be treated in the future? No staff horrendous waiting times and people lined up in corridors ? I am absolutely disgusted and terrified that If I went there with something serious that there would be a good chance that come out in a coffin Something needs doing This is not acceptable care for people and nurses complaining and telling patients they are not qualified but are helping out and doing their best. This is hardly good care or good practice and it’s very alarming and I pray I never ever have to go there again and I really feel sorry for us all if this is the state of Warrington hospital and nhs in general

Review titled Car parking
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 October 2023
The hospital car park is completely inadequate. This is the third time I’ve been to this hospital in the last month and each time it’s been such a struggle to find a parking space. There are not enough spaces and they are far too narrow making it really difficult to get in and out, and certainly not enough disabled bays. As a result, visitors park at the end of the rows making it difficult to turn up or down each row. There are not enough traffic flow signs & the tarmac needs resurfacing. Also not enough working pay machines & you shouldn’t even have to pay for such a poor parking experience anyway. Very offputting.
