  1. Review titled Great experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jon Driver - Posted on 05 July 2023

From entering the hospital it was a great organised experience. Wheelchair available at entrance. Reception directions, porter (volunteer ) just instantly arrived. Taken directly to clinic. Greeted by another great volunteer Porter . Wheeled to a quiet corner and asked for my details . Asked if I would like a cuppa and biscuit. The wait between being seen, being scanned and discharged was really well timed. The greeting porter then wheeled me back to the entrance. This second volunteer porter should be very proud of himself. It made the whole experience great

  3. Review titled Outstanding Amazing Fantastic Awesome

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gavin Lee Hampton - Posted on 05 June 2023

I found myself accompanying my father to A&E on Sunday 5th June 2023. we arrived about 5pm, triage took about 15 mins, and then he was being treated within the hour. All staff were gentle, kind, patient. My father has a number of health complications making the treatment difficult and painful but the patience shown, the care given were literally amazing. You might say well thats their job and I accept that, but just feet away there were other patients so violent and ranting it took several police to restrain them. The Physical and verbal abuse were relentless for two hours, yet the staff remained calm and dignified throughout. I can't thank all the staff enough. They were all amazing

  4. Review titled Staff are fantastic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Natalie Branch - Posted on 13 April 2023

Literally just been discharged. My son was admitted for tonsillitis, the whole experience was great. The staff were so kind, helpful, couldn't do enough for us. We had a room to ourselves, it was spotless - so clean. The staff were kind and attentive. I cannot thank the staff enough, every single person I met were polite and caring. The food is incredible, honestly, great choice, fantastic quality. I just wanted to pass on positive feedback, it was something I dreaded to have to be confined to a room if my son ever got ill. I now know I have nothing to fear! I cannot thank you enough. nhs is fantastic West Suffolk hospital, amazing. Thank you and well done for being great. Please pass this to the Rainbow Ward f1, dates we were there 12th and 13th April. Thank you ❤️

  5. Review titled Great team of professionals

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rachel - Posted on 19 April 2023

Visited with my husband who had severe back pain diagnosed, after investigations, due to gallstones. Had a few hours (expected and clearly displayed) to observe this great team who were sensitive to patients' needs, communicative with patients and each other and obviously enjoyed their work, evidenced by the laughter and lightheartedness brought to a well-oiled system. Thank you.

  6. Review titled Great team approach

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sue - Posted on 28 April 2023

Thank you for looking after me, I have never stayed in a hospital as a patient since I was born many moons ago! From the minute I arrived as an emergency in a & e, I was treated efficiently and extremely well. I was in excruciating pain and everyone was very helpful and did everything to get me to the right place quickly. When I arrived in Ward f5, I was treated with care and respect. There is a very positive atmosphere and it is very clean and organised. I was diagnosed after tests (the ct Team were excellent) and found a bed the same day. The nurses and ancillary staff were on hand at all times, reassuring and making sure I was comfortable. The night team were great as well through the long hours when it can get difficult. It was an anxious time but I got excellent care, the right medication and could go home much quicker than I thought possible. Great one team approach. In the unfortunate event, that I might ever have to go to hospital another time, I would be much reassured. Thank you all so much. And, His Majesty's Government - pay up, they deserve it!

  9. Review titled Really not good enough

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Elaine Kwame - Posted on 29 March 2023

My brother was admitted on Tuesday 28th March with an extremely bad leg infection and feeling very poorly. He is quite big and very tall and needs a larger sized bariatric bed which the hospital don’t appear to have. He has been told that raising his leg would help his condition but spent his first night sleeping in a chair. He has just messaged me to say he is now having to spend his second night sleeping in a chair because the bed has been ordered but has not arrived. It is not the first time this has happened as he was admitted around six weeks ago with the same condition and spent several nights in a chair then. As well as the leg infection he is waiting for a hip replacement op so is in extreme pain. Really not good enough West Suffolk Hospital. Would any of your staff expect to sleep in a chair indefinitely, especially whilst feeling so ill? Please chase this up as a bed is a basic requirement of a hospital stay.

  10. Review titled Long wait but very kind staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ann Brignull - Posted on 22 March 2023

Monday 20th at 9.45pm I went to A&E and was seen by a doctor 5.45a.m and eventually left at 6.30. The cleaners and nurses were so kind and patient in the chaos which was caused by people ordering food and treating it like a night out while others were very unwell waiting for beds. When I did see the doctor he treated me like I was his first patient Very reassuring and able to treat my Diverticulitis flare up. Thanks to everybody. I just don't know how you keep going.
