  1. Review titled Professional and Caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anne Merriman - Posted on 11 September 2024

My husband was admitted after being taken to A & E, he was under the care of the Palliative team on 3 different wards while undergoing tests and putting plans for future care together. During this time both he and his family were treated with the greatest respect and kept well informed of every aspect of his treatment and care. The Palliative team were wonderful, they were professional, caring, empathetic and supportive to not only my husband but to all of his family as well. I also have to include all of the medical and service staff that have cared for my husband from A & E majors, Sandford ward, Uphill ward and Waterside ward have not only been professional but have been extremely friendly and helpful. Weston General Hospital have achieved something I have not seen in hospitals very often, they not only provide the highest level of care for the patients but they also communicate very well with the patients family, this communication comes from all staff members who communicate in their own area of expertise and is very helpful for families trying to understand not only the medical issues but the daily needs of their loved ones. All of the staff at Weston General Hospital are a credit to the NHS.

  2. Review titled Such caring staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My wife and I took my baby daughter into A & E last night with a chest infection. Everyone was amazing, from the Ambulance service who told us we needed to go to hospital through to the all the staff in A & E. They were nothing but caring, helping to calm both baby and parents. Experiences like that give you confidence in both the healthcare service and humanity in general. Thank you.

I arrived at A&E this evening having fallen off my bike, with an hour they had triaged, x-rayed and treated me. The staff were so lovely and caring, I was really impressed with the service.

I received amazing care throughout my four day stay at WGH. Many thanks to Doctors, Ambulance Paramedics, and all staff on A&E and MAU. I couldn’t have received better care anywhere

  8. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was admitted via ambulance after falling and experiencing a siezure-like event. There was no waiting time, the nurse took bloods and hooked me up to monitor my vitals. The ambulance crew were lovely, they made me a cup of tea when we got to the hospital...The doctor was attentive and thorough, the nurse and other staff were kind and highly competent. All appropriate tests were administered in a timely manner, came back as normal, and I was discharged. I felt well cared for.

  10. Review titled Amazing Individuals

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was admitted for a Total Knee Replacement on June 27th to the Knightstone Ward. I was made to feel relaxed from the moment I checked in. The anaesthetist talked through the prep and once I changed led to me through to the awaiting room. Then into theatre for the op itself. I was taken to Knightstone ward for my recovery period. Throughout the whole procedure I felt safe, reassured and happy to be in trusted hands. Two days following I was able to come home. I am so thankful to the whole team for the outstanding, friendly, selfless and totally professional input that each member showed towards me. Nothing was too much trouble. They are all stars in my eyes and definitely don't get the credit they all deserve. I would happily recommend this hospital and especially the ortho dept to anyone awaiting surgery. I give them a 5* rating but they deserve a lot more. You are all amazing people and the biggest heart felt thankyou from me to each and every one of you.
