  2. Review titled Caring plastics team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

To the most wonderful people who helped my daughter when she crushed her finger. The plastics team were brilliant from start to finish. They explained everything so clearly in such a calming and caring way. You made my daughter feel special in a truly distressing time. The nurses before and after were also very kind. We will always be eternally grateful to you all x

  4. Review titled Delay in getting appointment

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Simarjeet Kaur - Posted on 29 December 2022

I am 34 weeks pregnant and my due date is 9th feb 2023. I had brain surgery 2 yrs back and there is shunt fitted in my brain due to which my midwife/doc referred me for neurologist so that he can give his opinion on my delivery. I discussed about my surgery at the very initial stage and almost during my every hospital visit moreover my midwife referred me for neurologist in the month of july and its end of december now I haven’t got any appointment. Since than i am just hearing that i have been referred to neurologist but no actual action taken on that…..Though i got telephonic appointment for 23rd jan which was cancelled and further booked for 30th jan which is too late as i am 34 week pregnant already. Please give me early appointment as soon as possible so that i can make my mind for delivery accordingly. I hope you understand my concern…. I am really worried as there are some other complication also as my bile acid is high and iron level is also low. All these things giving stress to me. Please have look into this and get back to me asap…

  5. Review titled blood test at children's department

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 December 2022

Normally we are using different hospital but this blood test was booked by our GP. We went for a blood test with my 6 years daughter. In other hospitals we always get anesthetic cream then we wait for 45min as well the child was in position where they couldn't see the needle. As well the nurse tried to make the child busy even showing the cartoons on tablet. Unfortunately at wexham park hospital this looks completely opposite. We arrived and we were taken for the blood test straight away only using cooling spray which is not the same as the anesthetic cream. Not sure if they were in rush or they don't have any more empathy or they tried to save money. My girl when saw the needle close to her skin get panic and start screaming and then I have heard from the nurse saying to my little one then they will do it anyway even she will scream. At this point a did say to the nurse then she went to far. Second nurse after few minutes said to me (I was trying to come down my daughter at this time) she said to me then they only have 15 min and our blood test have to be rescheduled. At this point I stan up and we left. That was the worst experience with the NHS service. Till now we was always happy with the service we were provided (in other hospitals) and not sure if those two ladies forget about empathy and ware are they working(children department) or they just choose the wrong job.

  6. Review titled Exemplary care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tom Banin - Posted on 10 December 2022

I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to the nurses that looked after me at Accident & Emergency on both Saturday and Monday morning in early December. After accidentally burning myself in the kitchen, I was a bit shaken up but felt very reassured and well-cared for once arriving at Accident & Emergency. Despite it being busy on the Saturday morning, I was seen pretty quickly (and had the same experience again early on Monday morning). The nurse I saw on Saturday morning was understanding and compassionate: they talked me through all of the various steps/ actions they were taken, including a potential referral to another hospital unit. They were kind and understanding, despite the potentially embarrassing nature of the incident. After the advice to return again after 48 hours, I was seen by a different nurse, but one who was equally caring and empathetic. Although the wound was healing well at this point, there was further reassurance and the opportunity to return in another 48 hours if required. You could tell that the staff were working incredibly hard and we see in the media that A&E units are very busy, so I didn't really want to go after the accident. However, the care I received was exemplary and I am so grateful for the nurses that looked after me.

  7. Review titled Thank you for saving my daughters life

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nikki - Posted on 27 March 2023

My daughter suddenly took ill the Paramedic arrived at the house her swift actions diagnosed the issue and stabilised my daughter sufficiently for the Ambulance team to blue light her to Wexham Park A&E who were waiting for her. They along with their colleagues from Gynaecology department showed immense care and expertise in quickly identifying the issue and rushed her to the Theatre where she received a lifesaving operation. We cannot fault the care and support my daughter was given and the concern the staff showed as they quickly worked to save her. They even came to find her in a ward the next day to see how she was after their shifts. It was seeing the NHS at its very best and we will be forever grateful for the professionalism and kindness they showed - thank you

  8. Review titled Overall, brilliant

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 March 2023

Referred by my GP late December for flu/breathing difficulties. In what must have been one of the most difficult months the hospital had seen, all I can say is that the professionalism of the staff shone through. Yes, I waited a fair while. Yes, I was sat in a corridor at first for treatment, but they immediately realised when I was struggling too much and moved me to resus. The care was amazing - the a&e was on its knees, there were patients queuing every way you looked and all down corridors and attention to detail never dropped. My one negative experience was the triage nurse who made me feel like I shouldn’t have been there by remarking “so you have a cough just like everyone else but you decided to come to a&e.” This despite my GP having just seen me and referring me to the medics. I was having a severe asthma attack. Luckily, she was so outraged that AMU wouldn’t take me that she consulted a dr who confirmed that my breathing not good, and arranged for me to be treated straight away. If he hadn’t done that, I’d been made to feel so small that I’d probably have walked out the department.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this review of your experience at Wexham Park. I am delighted that you found the overall experience to be so good – and that you were able to see past the intense busyness of the hospital at the time to appreciate the professionalism of the staff. While I appreciate your feeling that the interaction you had with the triage nurse might have been improved it is reassuring to know that – despite the initial encounter – you were well taken care of and looked after. I will share your feedback with the team who will appreciate it. Thank you again and kind regards, Alex Jackson, Patient Experience Manager, Frimley Health Foundation Trust

  9. Review titled Everyone was kind and did their best

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Christine Luck - Posted on 30 December 2022

After I experienced racing heartbeat and chest pains my GP advised me to attend A&E at Wexham Park. I had interactions with at least 11 members of staff doing tests, taking detailed histories or guiding me around. Everyone made me feel that my case was important to them. Finally I was given a very detailed and professional evaluation of my condition and a plan of what would be the best way to investigate it further. Thank you to everyone for making, what could have been a difficult day a positive experience.

  10. Review titled Excellent care carried out with utmost kindness

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Chris Luck - Posted on 27 November 2022

On Saturday I had a colonoscopy in the Endoscopy Unit at Wexham Park Hospital. The nurse who admitted me and cared for me throughout the procedure was extremely kind and helpful. She explained everything clearly and I felt comfortable asking questions. Once I was in the treatment room I was shown the same kindness and respect by the consultant and the two nurses assisting him. I was impressed with the care that was taken to make sure I understood and was happy with everything. The people who rang me up beforehand and all the information I was sent were also very professional in everything that was done. We only had one problem, we arrived half an hour early and then couldn't find the Endoscopy unit. Telling us which car park to use would have been helpful.
