  1. Review titled Not so urgent care unit!!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 November 2022

Arrived at A&E and at first the service appeared very efficient, but thenI arrived at the urgent care centre, which was anything but urgent. I was seen quickly by a nurse , but after that it went down hill. At first there were (2) two doctors, who only saw one patient an hour each. The work load must have been overwhelming, because the male doctor put on his jacket and left. The lone doctor then took a patient who had been at the practice since 15:39hrs, whilst leaving other patients to wait who had been there since 13:00hrs. Whilst I was there more patients left than were seen by the doctor. I have now been at the hospital for over seven hour’s wondering why the NHS is not given more money.

  2. Review titled The last place I would ever want to visit again.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 November 2022

I visited the A&E on two occasions regarding the same issue. It altogether took ridiculous hours (I think 8 altogether). They were completely overwhelmed with the number of patients, understaffed and clearly not coping. To add insult to injury, the prescription was handwritten in such illegible fashion, it could not be realized at my local pharmacy, because the pharmacist couldn't even figure out what was prescribed, and the dose was a hieroglyphic squiggle. The pharmacist tried to contact the hospital to no avail and had to give up after 45 minutes, because they were closing. I tried to contact the hospital for 2 days, just being shuffled about and stonewalled. I phoned my GP, and it became alarmingly clear there was no prescription mentioned on my discharge form. It finally took either 111 or patient advice service to get to the hospital and receive assurance I can pick up my medication the next day (remains to be seen how this will work). No apologies, absolutely none. I was treated like an obnoxious nuisance, not an ill patient with a real issue. Just dreadful.

  3. Review titled Poor service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 November 2022

Presented at a&ewith my father.. the service was poor didn’t know where to report. The initial nurse hardly spoke to us and answered question without asking for the correct info this was then reported incorrect on the form. The receptionist was moody and did not listen and got dob and allergy info incorrect. She was talking to patient behind us whilst being dealt with. There is no privacy to be initially triaged in the utc everyone In reception can hear personal info and medical concern. There’s no idea of any waiting time. Covid notices are out of date on display. And forms being used are out of date and not current for guidance on covid-19. This can be confusing. The technicians appear uninterested on presenting to the centre. There should be a receptionist on reception. Over poor first impressions.

  4. Review titled Brilliant Service.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jon Morrissey - Posted on 07 November 2022

I turned up fifteen minutes early for my blood test appointment and walked straight in. Five minutes later I was on my way home. The helpful courteous nurse, was so careful, I didn't realise the needle had even been put in. All completed so quickly, I didn't even get charged for parking.

I came for an ectopic pregnancy.Doctors were great and saw me in good time but I was left seating in the waiting room overnight because there was apparently no bed.How could someone that unwell be treated that way.I would have been better off in my house .Won’t recommend this hospital to even my worse enemy

  7. Review titled Poor communication

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Malachi Doyle - Posted on 28 August 2023

Excellent emergency service (ambulance through to pacemaker implant) following heart crisis. Follow up; 6 week pacemaker check took place but six monthly review has not taken place. Contact tele number given at time of operation defunct. Sought contact with Pacemaker Coordinator through switchboard but twice was placed in a 'loop' ( because switchboard did not have a name?) which ended in the line going dead. Yes, I appreciate the ludicrous pressures on the NHS but that doesn't excuse abysmal and basic communication flaws that exist.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. I am so sorry to read that your 6 monthly review has still not taken place. I can completely understand how frustrating it must be waiting to be contacted especially when trying to contact the Pacemaker Co-Ordinator through switchboard. I would be deeply frustrated too and this is not something that you should be struggling with. 9. Review titled 28 hours of misery

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 September 2022

Monday 12th September 2022. Gp clinic for 3 hours, 1xGp rude, arrogant with zero people skills the nurses failing miserably in their duty of care with false information given when asked just to get you back in your seat, made to feel uncomfortable when asking for information! Moved upto A&E for a further 25 hours from the 12th September through to the 13th. Doctors were professional and friendly sadly though the nurses on shift, most were uninterested again with false information to get you back in your seat, MRI receptionist 2pm, 13th September rolling her eyes at us with plenty of attitude, referring to my wife as “she” just because my wife had spoken to her with queries previously. We have never been made to feel so uncomfortable when asking questions, simply shocking! After 28 hours with no bed or MRI for our daughter, she made the decision to discharge herself along with others that day. The NHS do a fantastic job, sadly though there are to many at WHH that are failing in their responsibility of care .

  10. Review titled Simply awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 August 2022

This is my third trip in as many days to William Harvey. I have been put through a and e twice and left waiting and in pain once for 8 hours and once for 6 with no help or consideration. My medical history was not taken and staff did not take the issues going on with me seriously. My neurological care is under kings college London and to be honest if similar issues occur with me again I will brave the drive up to London rather than wait 8 hours and be told to come back the next day . Disgusting
