  1. Review titled Excellent experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Erin Mallory - Posted on 09 November 2022

I was seen by a Neurology consultant today, for an initial appointment. From start to finish the experience was very positive. Although busy, the staff at recpetion were friendly and efficient. The nurse who took me to meet the doctor was kind and helped put me at ease. The consultant I saw was absolutely wonderful. They were patient, displayed empathy, were extremely thorough in their examination and questions. They have put in place a care plan for me and explained everything very clearly. The care and experience at Worthing Hospital was exemplary.

  2. Review titled Patient centred care not working

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by BootneckBandy - Posted on 17 November 2022

I took my wife to a&e into the second week of a holiday. She has pseudomonas and is considered an expert patient with her care. We informed the staff that she has regular episodes, because she is on immune suppressants. She has a self-monitoring regime to submit a test when she develops symptoms to prevent it going on to her chest as the infection spreads rapidly. We made it clear that the infection has gone on to her chest and hadn't responded to three courses of oral antibiotics. Jennifer is now experienced to understand when her treatment needs to be stepped up and advised on the usual treatments once she gets to that stage. We were disappointed that the doctor refused to acknowledge how her infection is usually treated when it keeps resisting oral antibiotics, and felt she did not receive her usual treatment because we were not from the area. Instead of being put at the centre of her care, it was the old doctor knows best attitude. We were treated very well by the nurses. My wife usually has a mid-line due to her thin veins after many years of blood tests, not the easiest of tasks, which most would not like to attempt. The young chap who breezed in and canulated her made it look all too easy and was painless. As her condition worsened after discharge, we had to terminate the holiday early to get home for the correct treatment. Her GP referred her to same day emergency care who started her on the correct treatment and transferred her care to ICT nurses to treat at home. Pleased to say that after getting back home on the correct treatment, she is recovering nicely.

  3. Review titled Great nurses and staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Janice Christopher - Posted on 20 October 2022

Yesterday I had a Colonoscopy and was very nervous, but I need not have been. All the staff were amazing, put me straight at ease especially the nurse that was looking after me. The lady that did the procedure was very kind and informed me at all times what she was doing. The staff let my husband know when I was in recovery and to let him, know I was ok and everything went well, they also let him know when I was ready to be picked up which was nice that I didn't have to do that myself. Wonderful staff every one of them.

  5. Review titled Ignorant reception

Rated 1 star out of 5

by John - Posted on 15 October 2022

My son had been attacked so I took him to our local a and e, I honestly won’t bother again. The receptionist was extremely rude and just didn’t want to know, we got my son to the triage who stated that he needed stitches. We sat back down and this poor older gentleman’s, son stated that the waiting time was over 4 hours, why couldn’t the ignorant reception tell us this!!!. I said to my son I will treat him at home so went to the ignorant reception to let her know that we were leaving, without turning round she stated she was to busy to talk to us… unreal

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jackie - Posted on 13 October 2022

Today I brought my 17 year old son in for an mri, endoscopy and colonoscopy. The care, efficiency, consideration and professionalism was second to none. Throughout all of the procedures we were kept informed and very well looked after. I cannot praise the service we had enough. every member of the team who saw us were incredible. The gastro doctor, that we saw was also excellent. We were moved to Bluefin ward where the team were wonderful. We feel very thankful our son is being cared for so well.

  7. Review titled Fantastic care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Andy Baker - Posted on 30 November 2022

After 3mths of trying to get an appointment with my doctor and just seeing paramedics I gave in and my wife took me to A & E as I was struggling to breathe. I was checked every hour, when found to have a temperature a nurse gave paracetamol Then a last year medical student sat down with me and went thru all the problems in past 3 months in detail and consulted with the doctor I then had blood tests, X-ray and CT scan. Then diagnosed with pneumonia. I can say the the care I had was fantastic kind and caring at all times.

  8. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 October 2022

I visited accident and emergency today. Then i was sent to minors. I received excellent care fron the nurse there....she was caring and very thorough. She kept me up to date whilst I waited for care from maxilla facial specialist. The consultant there stitched me up and again the care was excellent and to a very high standard. Thank you to those who looked after me.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Today I had to take my husband for his diabetic retinal screening. He is very deaf and frail. The two nurses were wonderfully patient with him and took endless trouble to take the photos and help him . I am so grateful as it is very difficult. Thank you to both of them.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We entered AnE in a very stressed state. From the receptionist onwards, every member of staff we met showed us excellent care and consideration. The AnE area and later Zone C were spotless and well equipped.
