Review titled Wrong info given but fine experience
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Katie Mann - Posted on 04 April 2023
Came for a scan and was sent to the ultrasound department on MyMFT. Got there and was told it was in the other end of the hospital so had to run round to maternity. I was not happy with being given the wrong info. My scan was 40mins late which for an ultrasound can be very uncomfortable. The nurse who took my blood was really friendly and informative.

Thank you for your feedback via the NHS website. We were sorry to learn that your experience was not as positive as we would hope at Saint Marys Wythenshawe. It is important to us that service user feedback is used to develop our service and to make changes and improvements wherever possible. In response to your comment, we have reviewed the information provided within the appointment letter on My MFT when a pregnancy ultrasound scan is arranged. Review titled Outstanding care & support
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sue - Posted on 07 May 2023
I have recently returned home after a week’s stay on f3 & cannot praise the clinical staff highly enough for their dedication and support throughout my stay. Whilst I do not feel the support within the discharge lounge was of the same standard, the team on f3 are absolutely amazing and I will be forever thankful to them.

Review titled Excellent Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Tim Ault - Posted on 14 April 2023
I was rapidly admitted via A&E for a severe persistent nosebleed. Once it became clear that packing the nose was not going to be effective, I was scheduled for an emergency operation immediately. Every member of staff that I encountered was friendly and professional. The ward I stayed in was spotless and the food was far better than I had expected. The surgeon and anaesthetist explained exactly what they proposed to do during the procedure and answered the few questions that I had. It is difficult to find fault with any aspect of my stay.

Review titled Frightening Experience - Triage
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 April 2023
I would not of thought 5 hours is acceptable for someone brought in by ambulance with severe abdominal pains. Even after asking triage nurses 3 times to look how long I would be waiting I was told I was waiting the longest time on their list from 15.45 to 20.45 when 2 hours was displayed as the waiting times, they must have seen the pain I was in as I couldn’t stand up straight. When I was eventually seen I was admitted with acute appendicitis and had an operation the next day. May I say the emergency room staff were excellent when I was eventually seen as were the staff on the ward during my stay - triage nurses not so good.

Review titled A pleasant experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Paul Booth - Posted on 05 March 2023
I attended the hospital on Saturday 4th March, to undergo a basal cell carcinoma operation. From walking in the entrance to being discharged same day I have nothing but praise for everyone I came into contact with, from start to end. Their friendliness and professionalism put me at ease, the op was a great success, and I was offered coffee, biscuits, toast and juice on several occasions. This is a good hospital with fantastic, caring and hardworking staff. Thank you Wythenshawe Hospital!

Review titled Ward f16 excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 March 2023
All staff in Ward f16 were compassionate and understanding and I received excellent care. I spent two nights there with a midnight surgery. I was well cared for, constantly checking in with me to make sure I was okay physically and emotionally. The healthcare staff made sure to explain everything to me and answer my questions. The staff were also very accommodating of my dietary needs.

Review titled Horrendous care and service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 March 2023
Turned up to A&E with a doctor's referral, triaged in an hour told I'd be seen by surgical within a couple of hours. Currently 8 and half hours later and nothing - not seen anyone triaged or taken through to a doctor in a good few hours! I think it's poor management and also need to make sure the staff know how to provide good customer service!
