  1. Review titled Sympathetic help.

by Geoffrey - Posted on 20 November 2022

The physios were friendly but very professional, carefully explaining the reasons for the various exercise routines, and changing them as the problem was resolved.

  5. Review titled Just charging the nhs lots of money !

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 January 2023

Went for my first appointment was checked over very quickly for my upper chest problem, guy spent longer filling out his computer screen than actually paying attention to me . I was not shown any exercises to do in person and was told to log in to ‘app and do them !’ Twice a day but only fill out once a day !? . Had problems using the app and forgot my appointment over Xmas I’ve now been told I’m being referred back to my doctor as I didn’t give them 24hrs notice ? I get the feeling you are a private company charging the nhs a extortionate amount of money for the appointments you offer ! Now wonder the nhs is in so much trouble and doesn’t have the funds anymore!! Regards

I'm sorry to hear that you're dissatisfied with the service provided by Ascenti. The purpose of your first appointment is for your physiotherapist to conduct an initial assessment. This is a thorough information gathering exercise that usually takes the full length of the appointment. The assessment is recorded on your patient file, hence why your therapist was filling out details on their computer. Apologies that you had problems using our app, if you require any assistance with this please contact our support team at onlinephysio@ascenti.co.uk. I appreciate your frustration at not being able to log your exercises twice in one day and will raise your feedback with our development team. As part of our terms and conditions, patients are required to give notice if they wish to cancel an appointment. In the majority of our NHS services, patients who fail to attend two appointments without contacting us are automatically discharged and referred back to their GP. I hope the above information is useful in explaining some of the issues you raised. If you would like to leave any additional feedback or speak to a member of our NHS Administration Team to discuss your case in more detail please email nhs@ascenti.co.uk or call 0330 678 0851. Best wishes, Laura

  6. Review titled Lucky to get such a good physiotherapist

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 December 2022

My experience of Ascenti, both for this and previous referrals, has been very variable and generally not good. Luckily for this referral, I had the same physio throughout much of my treatment and he was the exception and was excellent. Initially I had to push back against whoever was trying to set me up with an online or telephone consultation, because this would not have worked as there was no clear diagnosis of the problem by my GP surgery, as acknowledged by the Ascenti practitioner. It turned out that I needed hands-on contact for the diagnosis and the treatment as well as for prescribing the most effective exercise routines. A non-hands-on approach would just not have worked. The Ascenti service needs to have a better and more consistent level of competence.

  7. Review titled Good Service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Physio by zoom and emailed exercises met with my needs.initially I was apprehensive as to whether I was doing the exercises correctly...but I started to feel the benefit of them almost immediately. Along with the injection that I was given by GP. I was able to increase my step count from a couple of hundred a day to over a thousand. This has continued to increase..weather permitting! I realised that to keep my arthritis at bay I need to continue with these exercises which ive built into my life...wherher sitting eatching tv or standing af the sink or before I go to sleep at night. They are now a part of my life.

  9. Review titled App needs improvement

Rated 3 stars out of 5

My Ascenti physiotherapist was friendly and knowledgeable, but I couldn’t rely on the Ascenti app to include revisions to exercises he prescribed during my series of monthly visits, or to record the daily results I entered.

  10. Review titled Rude and inconsiderate

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Alison Lark - Posted on 26 October 2022

My father was going to a medical centre to see one of the physiotherapists. On his last visit he explained that he had had a CT scan the day before and was awaiting results. After receiving a cancer diagnosis his consultant advised him to continue with the therapy in moderation. Fast forward to the day before his next appointment when my father was unable to even get in the car due to pain and my mum called the number they were given and cancelled, leaving a message. At the time of the appointment the therapist called and demanded, rudely, to know where he was. He explained that he had cancelled the day before and therapist snapped that the message hadn't reached her. My father went to explain that he had cancelled due to having the results and it being cancer and the therapist just snapped goodbye, goodbye and ended the call, didn'tlet him finish. Not an acceptable way to treat anyone, cancer patient or not. If the NHS is going to use these outside companies to treat people who need care maybe they should do training course in how to be polite and show a little empathy towards people. No, I wouldn't recommend this company and if that's a reflection of the people they have working for them I think the NHS should think twice too.

Hi Alison, I'm so sorry to hear about your father's experience and understand your anger at the lack of empathy he received when explaining his diagnosis. This is not the level of service we pride ourselves on. So that we can log this in our internal reporting system, please can you or your father provide his full name, date of birth and postcode to contact@ascenti.co.uk, so that we can locate his patient file and investigate the matter further? Alternatively please complete this form on our website with his details: https://www.ascenti.co.uk/compliments-complaints Kind regards, Laura
