    I wish every practice could be run with this efficiency, attention to detail and the interpersonal skills these staff possess. In this day and age, where service skills are lacking, CHEC Westbourne is a refreshing change.

    I was referred to chec by my local n.h.s. to have a minor procedure on my eyelid which was rubbing on my eye. From the initial telephone conversation with a chec doctor (conducted at a different time to that agreed, which caused unnecessary stress) my dealings with this company have at best been disappointing to at worse shambolic. The only consultation before the procedure took place was over the ’phone. This was difficult for me as I am hard of hearing and as I explained to chec I find using the telephone problematic. It was also difficult to get any information before hand about where the procedure was going to take place and what I should expect when I had it done. I had to ask twice via there “chat line” for details to be sent in the post. The next contact I had with CHEC was when I had the procedure carried out in a small room in a medical practice in Shrewsbury. Once again, the information given was very perfunctory and unclear. I was asked to lie on a couch that was too small for me and the pillow which was meant to support my head totally inadequate. I found it very difficult to know what was happening during the procedure due to my hearing problems. After the procedure had been carried out, I was told that I would receive an appointment in three months (14 weeks later I have not heard anything) to check if had been successful. It has not. After two months I had to consult my G.P. as I had an infection in my eye and felt that my eyelash was more problematic than before. My G.P. referred me to our local hospital and I have seen a consultant today. He has confirmed that the procedure will have to be carried out again. Obviously, this is disappointing for me and costly for the n.h.s.. At no point during this process have I felt that chec have had my interests or welfare in mind.

    Professional yet friendly staff who take the time to explain each procedure. Each appointment is a pleasant experience, today’s even more so as the staff went out of their way to put me at ease regarding a procedure which required a few attempts.

    My father had his second cataract surgery at CHEC Accrington a couple of weeks ago. As with the first, he was very happy with every aspect of the care he received. He says his vision is now better than it's ever been and he is able to continue to drive and keep his independence. He would recommend CHEC Accrington to anyone who is apprehensive about having the surgery. Your sight could not be in better hands.

    I have found CHEC very efficient and customer friendly. Appointments are on time within 5 to 10 mins. Staff always seem professional and have a very good approach. I have used general public parking when visiting the clinic.

    I had laser surgery to both eyes at Accrington CHEC on the 14th December 2023 the referral and booking of the appointment was arranged very quickly waiting time was within 2 weeks for the surgery Accrington CHEC is very clean, staff were all helpful and pleasant The Person that did the laser treatment was excellent she explained the procedure before and during my appointment I am very satisfied with my eye surgery/treatment it’s wonderful to be able to see perfectly again I would recommend this centre for eye surgery

    I booked an appointment for today (18/12/2023) at 09:00 but when I attended the clinic they had no record of my booking on the system, so I was sent away. A wasted journey of 50 miles through rush hour traffic, with both my wife and I taking the morning off work. Even worse, I've been in a great deal of pain waiting for this operation and now need to get referred to another clinic or hospital because they no longer do this operation - surely if they did the operation when I was referred they should either let me know so I can get my GP to refer me to another hospital or honour the referral! Details of the operation are still visible on the CHEC website!
