    I was advised by Community Health Eye Care to make two appointments, which I assumed were for visual fields / scan and a review by an ophthalmologist. I was able to book these consecutively on the same morning. When I checked in I was advised that no doctor was present and I would have to re-book for a review. As my drive to the clinic is a 90 minute round trip I was not pleased, but the receptionist was unapologetic / bordering on rude. Previously I have had screening tests and a review at the same time and consider this should be standard practice. Initially I was impressed by Community Health Eye Care but the service offered during my recent appointments has been extremely disappointing.

    Staff were really friendly and professional The Doctor I saw was really good, pleasant and thorough and I would recommend him to my family and friends. Hope I get to see him on my next visit

    The laser treatment took just over a minute. I was amazed at how speedy the process was. The reception staff were welcoming and the optometrist humorous and very efficient.

    They've no appreciation of how difficult it is for some patients to travel miles and miles to go to an appointment there and often cannot make appointments to run consecutively, with patients having to make repeated trips over different days.

    I had an appointment earlier today at CHEC in Westbourne. The staff were welcoming, efficient and knowledgable. I immediately felt comfortable in their presence and completely confident in their capabilities. I would have no qualms in recommending them to my family and friends.

    I recently had cataracts removed from both my eyes, I just wanted to write this review, to thank all staff for my excellent care at your clinic. They are very caring, professional people. I would 100% recommend anyone with cataract problems, to get referred to this excellent clinic, they are so good at their jobs.

    ....the excellent quality of the interventions and care is in stark contrast to the quality, accuracy and quality of communication produced by the outsourced administration function. Now you may think this does not matter but the purpose of necessary administration is to provide the patient with timely, accurate and clear information so they know what to expect; when and where. By each of these yardsticks no individual could set out to design and operate such an opaque and inaccurate, unreliable system as that which patients face. For the patient it is wholly unnecessary and confusing but for those at the sharp end of chec it causes unnecessary contacts, lengthy searches and is a waste of their time. As it exists it is an impediment to good customer service. My conclusion having been through cataract removal on both eyes and a follow up to clear cloudy vision 18 months later and now see the same processes being repeated for my wife tell me that despite bringing the issues to chec's attention, no concerted effort has been made to grasp these problems. chec outsource this provision which apparently they regard as the end of the matter - out of sight, out of mind. Few words in the English language can adequately describe how appalling the administration is because of over reliance on an inadequate and ill-programmed information technology system which no one appears to (be able?) to manage. It plumbs hitherto uncharted depths of inadequacy.
