    My husband is 89 and has peripheral neuropathy. He finds it impossible to cope with his phone messages as he can’t see very well. We tried telephoning regarding an appointment and were just cut off. We have no problem with the care received but for the non-tech elderly, a number for reception would be extremely helpful.

    My optician referred me for laser treatment on 24 April. The referral was made very quickly. I was told that the appointment should be in 2-3 weeks time. After 3 weeks I received an appointment for a telephone call. This call was extremely brief and I was given no assurance as to when my appointment would be. After a further delay I received a letter which gave me an appointment for 5 June. I then received a letter which stated that my appointment had been cancelled. There was no email address so I telephoned CHEC about the letter and had great difficulty in getting through. Eventually I was told the letter was a mistake. On 1 June I received three identical letters dated 6 May, in three separate envelopes, asking me to telephone the CHEC office again. I did so and again had difficulty getting through but was eventually told that these letters were all sent in error and that another letter would be received before my appointment on 5 June.

    I went to the CHEC Clinic at Accrington for my eye appointments and was very impressed. The building is bright and modern, local for me and plenty of parking. The staff are nice and friendly and very efficient.

    I had a cataract operation on 19 may at this practice and it was very successful, The staff were fantastic 😍 very helpful and put me at ease even though I was very nervous I would recommend them to anyone considering this sort of operation.

    An impressively streamlined process from booking an appointment to seeing an eye specialist. Conveniently located clinic next to shopping centre with local transport hub. Able to book online with minimum of fuss. Rapid turn round of results.

    Trying to cancel the appointment. Phone numbers are incorrect. One number just cuts you off. Very worrying especially in a world of fraud and Id theft. Never heard of the company before now am worrying even more.

    Trying all day to get through to change appointment. Short message says person not available. No way of leaves no a message. No way of waiting to speak. No alternative means of contacting them. Very easy to make appointment, but the website gives way no way to change. Please add this option.

    My second cataract operation went as smoothly as the first and without a hitch. The improvement in my vision after the first operation was unbelievable. Having the facility so local was great and I am very grateful.

    I received 2 text messages sent to my mobile, asking to click on a link. CHEC meant nothing to me, so I ignored as my children have instructed me. I later received an introductory letter from yourselves.Why wasn't this letter sent firstly to introduce yourselves. I have made an appointment for the 18th July. I have now(19th) received another letter, dated 6 May,asking that I make an appointment, otherwise my referral will be closed . Please make sure that patients know of change of provider before sending out text messages. Barbara Rowan

    Extremely unhelpful. No flexibility in altering appointments if mistakes are made by patient or if there is urgent need for appointment. Archaic system of booking with frightful lumbering website
