    A super experience from start to finish. From friendly receptionist to super efficient discharge nurse and everything and everyone in between. All staff friendly and caring and certainly appear to be happy working in that environment. Impeccable treatment. I'm 78 years old and have never previously experienced the National Health Service operating at this high level of care and efficiency. Absolutely brilliant and congratulations and thanks to everyone involved in providing this facility at Chec Basingstoke.

    I have been trying to contact the clinic for several days but phone system appears to be down. I need to confirm my follow up appointment following cataract surgery but no matter what number I call the line either goes dead or told to call back later system not taking calls which just does not make sense

    I attended the clinic in Accrington, I did have a bit of a wait but the clinic itself was very nice. I have had the procedure before but with sedation which was better, however the nurses were very good and did their best to make me comfortable and keep me calm.

    All my experiences at CHEC have been very positive. Staff are friendly whilst being totally professional. They really know their business and look after you from pre-op right through to post op. This was my second cataract op, but first with them and couldn't fault my experience. No hanging around, short waiting times. Thank you.

    Communication is dire, issue with phone lines. Impossible to contact even to change or amend an appointment. wrong telephone numbers on correspondance, yet expectations for their patients to be prompt and communicative is a little hypocritical. This is the start of my treatment and it does not bode well. Attitude is not overly apologetic despite the 1hr 40 mins trying to contact. Exasperating.

    I took a taxi to the appointment (30 mile round trip) as my letter informed me that drops may be used to examine me, which would impair my sight for several eyes as per my last appt. On arrival I was told straight away even before any questions or examination, that there was no intention of using drops so I could have driven myself and saved considerable time and money. The technician was I presume having a bad day and kept insisting that I don't blink (it's really hard not to blink for 2 minutes whilst setting up the machine). During our initial consultation, I was questioned from behind a keyboard and apparatus so there was no eye contact between us which is impersonal and somewhat humiliating. I said I'd had problems wearing my glasses to which the technician said "I don't know about glasses". My fault, fancy thinking that an eyecare service would know anything about wearing glasses. Disappointed.

    I felt the clinic was lovely, the environment was nice, I felt really comfortable there. The sedation was not available at the time but the nurses worked really hard to make it as better an experience as possible. I would return to the clinic but only if sedation becomes available.

    I have never had an endoscopy procedure before, I was a little bit anxious of what to expect going into it. The staff really helped relax my nerves. The clinic has great facilities. Everything was organized, good timekeeping with all of the staff.

    The worst experience I have had with the NHS by some distance. Their phone line doesn't even ring, but goes straight to an answering machine that tells you, "The person you want is unavailable", and I tried about two dozen times over a three week period. Then they did not keep the telephone appointment, and ten days later have not written or phoned to apologise or explain. I am far from convinced they even exist. Avoid them like the plague, they are a complete waste of space. All they have succeeding in doing is delaying treatment by about a month.
