  2. Review titled cant get to anyone to speak to

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Nicky Holland - Posted on 20 April 2023

The telephone number to ring for appointments or reviews always has the same instant message "sorry person you are calling is not available. Please try later". Having tried this number as printed on your headed sheets about 25 times I have given up. This is no sort of service to the public. It says on letter do not hesitate to call - "how???

  3. Review titled Glaucoma monitoring check

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Stonham - Posted on 16 May 2023

Appointment over a month ago in not particularly convenient place, no feed back received so don't know if my situation has deteriorated or not. No service at all on phone, can't even bother to answer. Service not a patch on the old system, but nothing is likely to improve

  4. Review titled Rearranging an appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Alison - Posted on 19 April 2023

The phone number given on the appointment letter is pointless. Having made 9 calls over several days I have given up. The answerphone says "there is no one here to take your call, please try again later", (tel: 0330 100 4730). The appointment is for my Mum, who is 83. She has multiple long term health conditions and cannot possibly get to her Ophthalmology appointment at 8.45am. She needs to be accompanied. I will need to go to her GP Practice to ask for their help. More thought and consideration from CHEC please. Your system doesn't work!

  5. Review titled Poor customer service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 April 2023

On arrival receptionist was very rude and abrubt in her manner. To the level of talking down to me. Would not expect to be treated like this on arrival, left me with a very poor opinion of the practice at first impressions.

  7. Review titled Terrible Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by James hardy - Posted on 27 April 2023

CHEC have now cancelled my eye appointment twice. Now telling me the next appointment is 30 days away. Disgraceful service, just another example of the broken NHS service. Why am I paying NI if you can not even offer a service.

  8. Review titled Poor practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 April 2023

Poor communication from administration and clinical staff. I had to rearrange my appointment 3 weeks before my specified date and was told that if I needed to rearrange again they would refer me back to my GP. Then 2 days before the rescheduled date they rang me up to say that they would have to cancel the appointment and the next best appointment I could have was 2 months time. Further, this was for glaucoma monitoring which is to a Fields Test and eye pressure check. Surely they could arrange a temp to cover if someone is sick? I used to get 2 appointments, one for glaucoma monitoring and then another with the consultant to look at my eyes and review the results . This second appointment with the consultant has stopped happening over the last couple of years so I assume that I will no longer see a consultant but there was no explanation or letter to say that they have changed their procedures. Unfortunately, they have my mobile number and I regularly get text messages telling me to book an appointment (even though I have an appointment). These text messages do not state what the appointment is for so it is difficult to know what is going on.

  10. Review titled Poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Dean Phillips - Posted on 13 April 2023

Went to your St. Martins Quarter, centre @ Worcester. Took my mother to your above centre. Parking was off site and quite a way to get to the clinic. Signed in and was immediately called into the room, for the eye test. Your testing equipment was mounted on tables, which were unsuitable for wheel chair access. This led to the first test being quite uncomfortable, as the table did not go low enough. The second eye test, you could only test the one eye, as you could not adjust the machine to test the other eye. Your staff said any further appointment, you would have to use `drops` to complete the test, rather than using the machines. It took quite some effort to get to the clinic, arranging transport, parking, assistance and then to have a `part` test, because the wheel chair would not fit with your equipment was very disappointing ! Surely we`re not the only ones to come in with a wheel chair.... Also the letter detailing the appointment (dated 7th April) was received by us late this afternoon (13/04/23). This letter contains lots of writing but does not mention restricted access for wheel chair users / or special requirements either.
