  1. Review titled Unacceptable treatment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Brian Wilson - Posted on 14 September 2023

I was denied collection of my antibiotics until I had completed an antibiotic audit. I had been advised by my GP surgery that a prescription had been sent to Asda Pharmacy, Westbrook, Warrington, at the request of my Respiratory Consultant following the receipt of recent test results. On arrival at the pharmacy I was advised that my prescription would not be dispensed to me until I had completed a newly introduced Antibiotic Audit. Although, I understand the rationale behind the Audit, I find it unacceptable that my medication should be withheld from me until I had satisfactorily completed the form. Not happy at all. This should be purely voluntary.

  2. Review titled Totally incompetent at Asda Mansfield Pharmacy

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Linda Adams - Posted on 25 September 2023

I have persevered in trying to get my repeat prescription for cancer treatment ordered for collection at the Asda Mansfield Pharmacy for nearly 3 years. I believe that on over half of these monthly collections they have given me a date to collect the next repeat prescription but then I arrive and they've forgotten to order it. Enough is just enough. I need to take the medication at the same time each morning and it took them until 3pm to prescribe it today as they had forgotten to place the order again. Never again will I rely on them to order this medication, one customer who will never be returning.

  3. Review titled Thank you

Rated 3 stars out of 5

What a difference a day makes. I had occasion to visit Asda Pharmacy on 3 separate occasions to get a flu vaccination. The Pharmacy had the flu vaccinations in store because I had checked. On each of these visits I received a different story as to why flu vaccination wasn't available to be administered. I walked in today and asked and much to my surprise was offered the vaccination. Many thanks to the Pharmacist on duty today,15.09.23, at Asda Old Mill Lane Barnsley. He was professional, obliging and overall a very pleasant human being. He was able to give me my flu vaccination, which I am extremely grateful for. Thank you.

  4. Review titled Awful experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

9am opening hours are clearly just an advisory. 9:18 the pharmacist graced us with their presence. I don’t know any other job you can turn up almost 20 minutes late and it be ok. Sign saying expected wait two hours for a prescription!

  5. Review titled Poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I handed in a prescription on Saturday 12 th August at 2.00pm and was advised it would be ready around 3.15pm however I was unable to hang around for over an hour and decided to pick it up on Sunday 13th August. I went on the Suday at 3.10pm to be met with a notice the pharmacy was open 10.00am - 3.00pm due to staff shortages !!! This seems to be the case time on time at the Dunfermline Halbeath pharmacy absolutely frustrating that I now have to make another visit to pick up my prescription.

  6. Review titled Not good enough

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Angie Armitage - Posted on 09 August 2023

Not the first time I’ve had to make multiple visits to get my sons prescription, but on this occasion - my parents tried to collect it for me last week and were told it would be an hour. I told them not to bother waiting and if collect it myself on Monday. After checking the opening hours online, I went and everything was in darkness with barriers across the entrance - there was no sign to say had to close unexpectedly or what time it would re-open. I returned in the evening after telephoning twice to check if they were open, but with no answer. I expected the prescription to be ready, but the Assistant couldn’t find it, so I had to wait the best part of 45 minutes from arrival to the prescription being given to me. When I got home and unpacked the items, I realised that some were missing and were not on the IOU. After telephoning for 2 days with no answer, I went back down and waited for them to check. I wouldn’t have had to wait another 20 minutes for the missing items and the IOU items still hadn’t arrived. So I will have to make another trip to collect them. The Assistants have all been lovely and have helped as much as they can. This isn’t the first time I’ve been messed about by ASDA Pharmacy Durkar and have had to go back a couple of times. They seem constantly understaffed and are so behind. Even when I try and leave my own prescription a week after it’s sent to them it’s still not ready. I can appreciate the Assistants are getting fed up of irate customers and are becoming de-sensitised to the situation, but it’s very frustrating and just isn’t good enough! I have also tried to find you on Facebook to leave the comment directly.

  7. Review titled Bad customer service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 August 2023

I went this morning at 9:10 to collect my repeat prescription for me and my wife. I don't know her name because she wasn't using a name badge. She told me to wait 30 minutes. I went to the gym and returned 1 hour after. When I returned she said no long now. She hasn't prepared my prescription. At 9:10 she said I can't see your wife's prescription here. When I returned she told me she could find her medicines. I got angry and said her I always have this problem. They never find my wife's prescription. She started shouting at me saying don't put her under pressure. They are only 2 people working. She was so rude. All the supermarket was looking at her. They need to be more organised and be more respectful.

  8. Review titled Hand on my heart, stay away!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 August 2023

I was directed to this pharmacy by NHS 111 for an emergency prescription. I was initially treated disrespectfully as they refused service, stating that NHS had got it wrong and I needed to call my surgery (which did not have any available, hence the 111 call) or call 111 again. On calling 111 the agent said she could not understand the refusal of service as their request was clearly for an emergency prescription. She told me to go back in and explain what she had said. I did as requested but each time I began to speak he interrupted me then accused me of pointing at him, more shouting at which point I told him he was totally unprofessional and left. I was shocked as never before have I had such a reaction from a pharmacy or shop in general. Someone really needs to manage the staff as they are out of control. Hand in my heart stay away.

  9. Review titled Very disappointed and quite disturbing

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Gary - Posted on 09 July 2023

I take several medications, one being anti epileptic and another, morphine. Since October 22 I have only had 1 month when my meds have been available. Leaving me with stomach cramps, loss of balance and vomiting. Asda pharmacy put them into daily trays for me, as I have nobody to help. Last month 1 medication was totally missing (gabapentin) yesterday, Saturday, they weren't ready again. The pharmacy got them done, I phoned to check they were definitely ready "yes definitely" a neighbour went to collect them, no other customers in the pharmacy. She had to wait for 30 minutes, someone else I can't ask to pick them up for me again. That's 3 people now, thanks Asda, it's not as if I have a car or anything convenient like that. Opened another tray tonight, well done again Asda, a medication missing (mirtazapine). I am writing this review because it was 7 weeks ago I spoke to a store manager, to be assured "it will not happen again". 4 weeks ago, I complained to the pharmacist and store manager together. I was assured "it won't happen again" 4 weeks later, here we are it's"happened again". It's truly shocking. I November, I was walking around Asda car park, doubled up in pain, sweating, shaking and trying not to throw up, as I spoke to a doctor on 111 to get an emergency prescription, because "yours aren't due yet" which, of course, they were. Someone had forgotten to order it. I could go on, but I will save everyone getting bored. At least I have the presence of mind to notice when something is missing. If I was on my own, which I am, with memory problems, they could make me a lot more ill than they have done so far.

  10. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

Don't bother, honestly just don't bother. They shouldn't be allowed to sell medicines. 30 minutes in a queue to find out they haven't bothered ordering your medicine, won't give it to you or leave you waiting 20 minutes whilst they 'check'...or if your lucky all 3.
